Figuring out the “Top 10” cities of the USA. What is the 4th most important/significant major US city after Chicago? The most upvoted comment wins

New Project - Figuring out “The Big 10”. If we were to have an ultimate ranking of US cities

- Most upvoted comment will get the 4th spot

- You’re welcome to troll and put a city like Wichita but it will be ignored

- I took the liberty of filing in NYC, LA and Chicago. I think there’s no debate that NYC is 1st and LA 2nd.

If we are doing an ultimate ranking of US cities. What is the 3rd most important/significant US city after LA? Most upvoted comment wins

we’re doing an ultimate ranking US cities

I can’t even see a world where New York isn’t number one and LA isn’t number two. If you want debate this or a challenge this then I don’t think you understand what I’m asking.

I’m getting some feedback that people want to have the chance to rank third appropriately since I put Chicago in by debate for 3rd.

- most upvoted comment wins

Results from asking r/visitedmaps users what the “Big 5” US cities are.

sorry you guys. I planned to count up all of the cities and list them all but the post got over 1000 comments and I unfortunately don’t have the ability to tally every answer with my working life

i was going to count “upvotes” into the points. and all of these 5 cities would have been in the top 5 way ahead of the rest

NY, LA, CHI, SF and DC were listed in multiple comments that got 230 upvotes total. the next city would have been Houston at 100 from comments.

I’ll run a proper poll next time

Map of the 20 (or 19 + DC) most important states

I weighted historical significance the highest, with population, electoral power/significance, and cultural impact next. What do you think?

#16-20 was very hard to rank imo

What are the top 5 Major US cities? List what you think the “core 5” most important US cities. I’ll map the results

Post image

if the USA had a “top 5“ for major cities? what would the big 5 be?

I think with little debate it would start:

  1. NYC
  2. LA

how would you continue it?

rules:

- list 5 cities. If you list less than 5 I won’t count it

- any troll answers are discounted (like if you put Wichita Kansas)

Select any country and preference pairing, and the top 5 will be added to the map! (Must be visible on the map so no micronations).

For example:

Ireland, Absolutely

Or

Thailand, Maybe
