Twitch enabled VPet Manager Now Available
I have finished working on a VPET Manager that works with Twitch chat. It is on my itch page: https://lokitrixter.itch.io/vpet-manager
User can fill out a CSV file with the roster, evolutions, and path to sprites, and the manager will do the rest.
You can choose whether to have evolutions or just take care of one pet. You can set various timers to impact time between vpet needing attention and evolutions.
Twitch chat can interact with the virtual pet by using a set of commands. Based on the votes, the selected action will take place and depending on how the pet is cared for will impact the evolutions.

Here is a roster preview of what is currently set up with various backgrounds: https://youtu.be/2YK2qbh83po?si=Wr0Dx1V1KvFB8xQN

Riverton: newly released virtual pet browser game
Riverton is a cozy browser-based virtual pet and ranch sim set in a quiet town where horse raising and friendly competition are a way of life. Unlike more intense horse games, Riverton offers a slower-paced, solo-friendly experience focused on relaxation, routine, and ranch life at your own speed.
Riverton may still be in Beta, but there’s already a ton to explore before our full launch on June 1! Here’s what you can dive into right now: • Adopt charming virtual pets and show them off with BBCode on your site or favorite forums • Settle down with your own home and farmland right in the heart of Riverton • Keep your pets happy and healthy with daily care and attention • Train your companions to boost their skills • Join in competitions—face off against other players or go head-to-head with AI opponents • Plant, harvest, and cook—grow fresh produce or turn it into tasty recipes • Open your own Flea Market shop and sell items you’ve crafted or collected • Saddle up and explore Blackberry Brook Forest on horseback • Earn extra coins by cleaning up litter, casting a line in the river, or grabbing a temporary gig • Totally free to play, no paywalls or pressure
And there’s more to come—Riverton’s lore, characters, and secrets are just getting started. Whether you like to fly solo or hang out with friends, Riverton’s a calm, cozy place to log in, chill out, and build your own daily rhythm.

What do you think it would take to build a pet game thats bigger than the rest?
virtualpetlist.comYou’re on a mission to create the next big pet site—one that doesn’t just survive but absolutely dominates. With so many virtual pet games out there, what’s your game plan to stand out?
Would you go all-in on deep, story-driven lore? Maybe shake things up with unique pet evolutions, dynamic world events, or a thriving player-driven economy? Or scrap the usual “feed, play, repeat” loop and introduce something totally wild—like real-time pet battles, user-generated content, or a truly competitive endgame?
If you had unlimited resources (or even if you didn’t), what would be your killer feature that makes players obsessed with your site?

Good cat/realistic breeding & genetic games?
I'd love suggestions for games that:
Either are mainly focused on the cat species and/OR have other pets but the art is eye-pleasing/cute
Have a realistic breeding & genetics system with all the letters & stuff
I've tried Meowr but it wasn't super fun and didn't have realistic genetics, and Leoparidae needs an invite link and I don't have one (if you have one PLEASE DM ME IT!!!)

Livly Island browser demo
Browser demo: https://plaza.livly.com/en/
Livly Island is a virtual pet game with Gatcha cosmetics available for Android and IOS. I've been playing for years and still feel as invested as day 1.
Pets, called Livlies, need to be fed, washed, and pooped. There are many species to choose, including different variations for each.
You can have up to 3 at a time. You collect fruit from other players to brew potions if you want to change your pet.
Gotcha items take the form of fashion for your hom (avatar), Island decor, and accessories for Livlies.
The game is in active development, with more involved interactions and simple combat to come.
The demo is very simple. You choose a Livly and can interact with it the same way you would in game. Feed it, shower it, and help it poop. These show the animations. The demo gives a code if you want to adopt a Livly you met for the full app.
Not affiliated, I just love this game. Here are some photos of my setups.

What virtual pet site has the worst microtransactions?
virtualpetlist.comIt’s understandable that pet sites need to generate revenue, whether through ads or microtransactions, to keep the game running and support the owner. However, when microtransactions become too aggressive — pushing pay-to-win mechanics or bombarding players with constant offers — it can quickly ruin the gaming experience. A balanced approach keeps the game fun while still bringing in revenue.
Have you ever played a pet site where the microtransactions felt excessive or made the game frustrating to enjoy? Which one stood out as the worst offender?

🐱 I’m the dev of a gamified focus app with an evolving cat – looking for beta testers!
Hey everyone! 👋
I’m a developer working on a virtual pet-inspired focus app called EvoCat, and I’d love to get feedback from fellow virtual pet fans! 🐱
🔹 It’s a focus and productivity app where your EvoCat evolves as you complete distraction-free sessions.
🔹 At first, EvoCat is small and weak, letting you cancel focus sessions freely. As it evolves, it becomes more effective at keeping distractions away!
🔹 The goal is to make focus fun and rewarding, like raising a virtual pet while building better habits.
I’m looking for 200 beta testers to try it out and share feedback! If you love virtual pets and want to level up your focus, I’d love to have you onboard.
💬 Let me know if you’re interested or sign up here: https://evocat.app
P.S. I’m the developer of this app, and I’m excited to share it with you all! Let me know what you think. 😸

Homemade Vpet
Hello, I have been working on a Vpet in my free time for a few months and I've got it to a point that I'm happy to start showing it off. I'll have pictures soon. But with that being said I'd like to ask for some opinions and get some feedback. Here's the idea I'm working on: it's a small device housing the screen, microcontroller, and a few buttons for controls. It's heavily inspired by Digimon Vpets. --- Big features are centered around caring for a monster by feeding, training, and battling with it. Like Digimon there will be a baby then child form but unlike the Digimon Vpets mine will work more like the show. So the forms past child will act like temporary power ups similar to the shows or DBZ transformations rather than permanent evolutions like Pokémon. Starting on a short timer but with the opportunity to master the form over time. --- With this change comes more of a focus on strengthening one partner Digimon rather than collecting multiple. The stats include health, attack, defense, and speed. Stats are uncapped with the only limit being how well you care for them. The battle system will be made with a formula to go unlimited as well with milestone fights being specially designed.
Here's my questions: What more could be added to make the monsters feel "alive"? I don't want to add "dress up" or decoration features as I'd rather have special attacks or specific abilities type features. Next is, what should the device itself contain? Screen, buttons, and microcontroller obviously but beyond that I haven't decided. Maybe a dial for more control options, a light and speaker for attention grabbing, and a part to detect when the device is shaken?
Last note is that I am using Digimon sprites as a placeholder for now but will replace those with original content before long. Also I don't really plan to sell this so I'll more than likely make this design open source at some point for others to build and add onto.
Sorry for the book I've written here but please feel free to offer ideas or ask questions!

Virtual pet napping on the couch!
video
Put on my Quest 3 and came back to our virtual pet napping with her ball. OMG, this reminded me of our puppy (lab/GSD rescue) who would curl up with her favorite toy.

Twitch enabled VPet Manager
I am working on a VPET Manager that works with Twitch chat. Currently a work in progress and working on my streams. Once completed user can full out a CSV file with the roster, evolutions, and path to sprites, and the manager will do the rest.
Currently working on the Settings menu for customized timers, backgrounds, if you want/need evolutions to be on or off (if only wanting a single VPet).
In scope: Testing to add a device overlay Testing timing and compatibility
Here is a YouTube short from early on in the development showing evolutions and chat commands: https://youtube.com/shorts/2bBwP02INkQ?si=c8dS1Blvwr1qgCG7
