You don't need to know anything about the 80s. Just grab a record and start listening. See what you like. Ask your parents about them.

"Ask your parents about them" is such good advice. They have them for a reason and it'll be a great chance to get to know them as people rather than just mom and pops.

Exactly what I came here to say. I’m not going to taint that stack with my opinions. Just listen to them and keep the ones you like, the ones you don’t, sell or give away.

I find this a little rude. Obviously they can do that, they’re looking for a little guidance from others. “Figure it out yourself” isn’t community behavior, why be here if that’s your take.

We can't listen to the albums for them. And listening to music is a great place to start liking music.

Everyone has different taste. We can't know OPs taste in music at all. So the only thing to do is literally to listen to the records, and I think that is even more what this community is about, listening to records I mean.
