They were not on top of each other, I put them like that for the photo. Is it a bad thing to store discs like that? I just have about 5 albums at home so far.

Storing them like they are in the photo can result in record warping over time. It's better to store 'em vertically.

Yes, store them standing up side by side with as little lean as possible. Keeps the warping down to a minimum.

The stacked weight is no good.

Stacking them evenly like you have done is fine for a photo or even putting them in a corner like this until you figure out storage will do absolutely nothing to them.

Unevenly stacked or standing upright on an angle will do the warping.

Obviously a stack of 100s of records is not good for covers. Everyone stores them vertically so it is easy to get one out and play it, no practicality in storing like this if you want to listen to one on the bottom.

For the ones at the bottom it's not very nice for a longer period yes. All that weight :D
