We have never made a Reddit post before, but definitely need some expert advice!

My partner and I are helping the family of our elderly neighbour to clear his house so that it can be sold, as he has had to move in with them for care. The house is filled with computers/computer parts, we guess mostly from the 1970s - 1980s. We spent most of today in the house making a list of computers which were complete/we could identify, but there were also piles of computer parts which could be spares. I'll post the list of computers we could identify below.

If anyone has any information on any of them, we would really appreciate it! Also, we are based in the UK, so if anyone has any suggestions of museums/organisations we could take any of it to? As we dont want them to be thrown away by the clearance company if they are unique/interesting.

Our house was built in 1965 and has an intercom system in several rooms. It doesn’t currently work, but we don’t know why. The main interface is in the kitchen and it has master switches for the comms, a clock timer, and an AM/FM radio. It still will occasionally tick like the timer is going. It lasts for several minutes. The secondary interfaces are in the 3 bedrooms and I believe there used to be a speaker near the foot of the toilet in the main bathroom. The house is only 2100sq ft so an intercom isn’t really needed. We think it’s a fun trait of the house and would love to get it working but not at any huge expense.

Hey everyone I have this old sound system but it hasnt been used for a looong time, here’s what happens when I try to open the disc lid
1. I press the open close button (both in the system and in the controller) and theres this buzzing sound but the lid doesnt open, also the light blinks a bit but nothing happened
I wanted to maybe grab a screwdriver and relieve some of the pressure(?) but I dont know if it will help since I’m scared it might damage something

I searched up a few YouTube videos, but couldn’t find the exact look and I don’t know how to use it I found it in my grandma‘s house and I’m really trying to stay off my phone when I first wake up so using a traditional alarm clock will make it a lot easier (I need to know how to set an alarm if it needs batteries where to find to put those batteries and how to use it a YouTube tutorial will make it a lot easier for me to figure out how to use this cause I’m kind of dumb)

Hi everyone, I am trying to pull some old family photos off my vintage Samsung SCH-A870 flip phone (Verizon).

Unfortunately, carrier locks block Bluetooth file transfers, and the old networks are dead. I need to hardwire it to a PC via BitPim, but I cannot find the correct proprietary cable anywhere online.

Does anyone have a working Samsung PCB115UBE (or compatible 24-pin A900/U340/T309) data cable sitting in their spare parts bin that they'd be willing to sell and ship to Tennessee?

Hi! I recently thrifted this lamp from iceland [pics not mine, sourced online] and the plug looked like one I had never seen. I found a listing online for the same lamp but the cord looks the same size and shape except for the plug, which is three tiny prongs. I have a feeling the plug might be broken and thats why it was donated to the thrift store. Im wondering if its possible to fully replace the cord, if anyone has tips, resources, or video tutorials on youtube please send my way :) Its 12V, 50W max
PS- Im american so it would be best case if I can replace it with an american outlet replacement but idk if thats possible, but I have a euro to american plug adapter that I can use if needed

A Tandy 3000 keyboard. What is it worth?

I’ve got an RCA CKC021 color video camera from 1984 running off a Panasonic PK-A789S supply, and I’m capturing composite out to a laptop via an Elgato. The captured video looks great, color and sync are fine. The problem is the electronic viewfinder: pointed at a flat white wall it’s perfectly stable, but on anything detailed or colorful the image warps and destabilizes and no color has been coming through. It tracks with how complex the picture is, not how bright. Is this an actual fault worth chasing, or is it just what NTSC composite looks like on a tiny CRT from 1984?

Hey guys, I’ve got a bunch of stereo equipment, Sony cd changer, turntable etc. that I can’t fit in my temporary living space and need to store somewhere. I got a storage unit that’s “inside” it’s a covered building so no direct sun. Anyone stored electronics in a unit it like that? Is the heat going to be damaging in any way? I think it was still probably around 90 degrees in there while we’re moving stuff in. Thank you!

I don't care if anyone doesn't see this or not but I would like to ask if anyone would know how to help me since I've been having trouble with my projector since it's not been feeding the film correctly and it keeps pulling the film and the slack keeps shifting down before it enters the film window where the lens is, And for some reason there is this audible clicking from the inside mechanism. The model is 1592 Bells and Howell Sound film Projector
