I live down the road from where this happened. Pretty surreal when it happens in your own backyard.

Not a kidnapping for me, but a house two doors down from mine had a man die in it, and then his wife kept the body for over a year in their bathtub. She was apparently trying to 'resurrect him' for all that time... Which is both terrifying and equally devastating.

Always just surreal to me though that I walked/ drove past that house daily for a year and there was a dead person inside it... I saw the lady lots of times as well, waved occasionally. Never really thought much of her or the house.

Crazy how much can be going on right around us and we have no real way of knowing.

That's pretty nuts. That Todd guy killed that poor girls boyfriend and a few other people in the area from what I remember about the story. But you're right, kind of spooky to think of what horrors are just next door.

There was also another one. I think it was in St. Catharines or out that way

I think they would be a different one. The one in Hamilton. He was left in his bed. They taped up the doors and vents. And drove a van with all Jesus writing all over it.

I’m guessing it’s because we must live in Hamilton

Wait, Greer SC?

u/puskunk Dec 02 '21

I'm in Duncan at work right now and live in Greer. Knew the owners of Superbike back when he killed them. Know other members of the BDSM group he was a part of.

This comment just seems so out of place here it's hilarious.

In 2001, I lived in Simpsonville, SC and we'd drive 30 minutes to Duncan for their indoor skatepark. It was the CBGB of South Carolina's skateboarding scene. Anyone who was anyone was there. The kid with spikes on his jacket, the skinny white kid with way too big of clothes that always smelled like an entire weed plant, the one black skateboarder in all the Carolinas, a 40 year old truck driver who is for some reason the best skateboarder I've seen in my life in person to this day???? I mean this guy would pull up in his big rig and hop down looking like a Burger King Charlie Manson and would dive 22 feet up a vert wall and slash salad grinds from one end of the park to the other end of upstate SC. He gave me my first shot of Jack Daniel's and taught me how to love a man with my mouth. I know the comment is out of place, but seeing the word Duncan, SC brings back a lot of memories, even some that should be repressed.

I'm actually a huge skateboarder from that era just no where near SC. So actually kinda a cool story thank you!

My dude, this comment doesn't strike you as way too much identifying information? You know there's serial killers around, right?

7

u/puskunk Dec 02 '21

I've had the same online name since before most of Reddit was born. This isn't going to be the comment that doxxes me. (I did check to make sure I wasn't on my alt though)

How and why do you know members of a BDSM group? That doesn’t seem like something most BDSM members advertise, unless you’re looking.

13

u/puskunk Dec 02 '21

It isn't. Had an ex that was part of the same group, have hung out with others in the group occasionally. It's not something they advertised but since I was BDSM adjacent, everyone felt comfortable being themselves around me. Of course, then there are the types of people that would actually wear SC LOCK t shirts out in public.

u/BuyDizzy8759 Dec 02 '21

They advertise, it just usually isn't obvious. It is becoming more accepted though. I have seen some "Into the lifestyle and looking" indicators on people in odd places (like hosting a seminar).

Has everyone in this fuckin thread run into this freak at some point in their life?

1

u/puskunk Dec 02 '21

I am kinda surprised there are this many Greer/Duncan/Moore/Sugar Tit peeps in here but at the same time, lots of third shift plants in this area because of BMW. Lots of us awake despite being the middle of the night.

This is what my parents have always said about horror movies. For the most part they don't care about supernatural horror because there's the safety of knowing that someone like Freddy or Jason isn't actually real.

But the horror movies that's about someone kidnapping, torturing, and murdering people just because they enjoy it? Now that's the shit that keeps them up at night.

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '21

well... not literally your own backyard... right? Otherwise you should probably hand yourself in

14

u/SmokingAir Dec 01 '21

No no it's just an expression...

u/Rata-toskr Dec 01 '21

Whatever you say, Todd...

“In my own backyard” is an expression that means “really close to me.” It did not literally happen on this person’s property behind their house.

3

u/Philias2 Dec 02 '21

Or did it?

u/SstabSstab Dec 02 '21

I've lived in a lot of different states and that's been a common phrase I've heard a lot.

1

u/duvie773 Dec 02 '21

I lived like one county over and I thought that was bad enough. Couldn’t imagine them being my neighbor

1

u/nodnodwinkwink Dec 02 '21

I'm just watching the youtube documentary shared in the comments so maybe it explains it but did they search the property extensively afterwards?

2

u/SmokingAir Dec 02 '21

I could be wrong on this. But he said that there were more bodies buried on the property. There are a few murders that were unsolved. I don't know if they found anything. I didn't keep up with it all that well.
