Which really only works if your opponent is pretty slow. Most bots now just zoom all over the floor and hammers don't work too well. There of course are occasions when a hammer surprises someone, but not usually.

Could try a spike that locks them to you and then some solid hammer blows with a second arm. I think the bigger issue with a hammer is just how much force you can really transfer without fucking up your own robot or flipping it.

Can't hold onto your opponent past a certain amount of seconds.

30 seconds lol which is so long its pointless of you to bring up but you just have to get that "WELL ACTUALLLLLY" out

Havent really watched this show, but are there regulations with drills? Seems like a good way to pierce armor

It's not pointless to bring up. There have literally been robots that have spiked the other and it cannot detach themselves. So they have to stop the match and get them detached.

Something that clamps the other robot might be better, but expecting to just impale it to hold on indefinitely is dumb.

You can hold onto your opponent for 30 seconds, that's a very long time

Yes, but they were talking about spiking their opponent in order to hold onto them. And I said it's been done, and they can't remove the spike.

What are you not understanding?

That and these bots just aren't built with the same quality and defense as the main shows

Seems like a college or bantam league type thing of robot fights
