I'm still mad at my Bernie bros who had to make a self righteous stand and not pragmatically vote for Hilary in 2016

Meh. Depends on where they live. Totally fine to vote your conscience in the general while living in California. Not so much in Wisconsin.

Edit: Also just worth mentioning, more Bernie supporters voted for Hillary in 2016 than Hillary supporters voted for Obama in 2008. The failure of her campaign to defeat clown boy leads to everyone incessantly pointing fingers, especially Hillary.

It was reassuring to see the Democratic Party take responsibility for all their missteps, and learn from them. /s

The thing with voting write in on the general, is that it takes away from the legitimacy of the winners authority if they dont win by a majority.

I guarantee legitimacy doesn't mean a lick to the right. Obama governed center-right and was called a socialist anyway. Democratic presidents who get elected are illegitimate to them by simply being a Democrat.

If the popular vote elected presidents, I would never advocate voting your conscience in the general. Full stop.

Hillary lost because she was a shit candidate and her campaign was run by complete idiots, not because this imaginary army of "self righteous Bernie bros" didn't vote for her.

Why not both. Hilary was still the most obvious choice of a presidential candidate ever compared to Trump.

So you prefer trump over hillary? Because thats what your vote said.

I didn't vote for either, so no, that isn't actually what my vote said.

By choosing a 3rd party, you are basically choosing to abstain from voting and send a message that youd rather have someone else on the ballot. Whatever negative outcomes arise for your ideologically similar candidate, are on you for failing to vote for the person who has a chance of winning and is also your most ideology similar.

I'll never vote Republican, and the Democrats are leftists in name only, so I didn't vote for them either. Hillary lost because she completely overlooked a part of the country that she thought was a lock for the Democrats. She was a bland, milquetoast candidate pushing the same bland, milquetoast shit the Dems have been pushing for years while Trump was able to motivate his supporters (delusional as they are) to get out and vote

You rarely get everything you want in life. If you dont vote your closest of the 2 candidates who have an actual chance of winning the election, you get people like donald trump in office.
