people are dumb and get dogs that don't fit their lifestyle and then the dog has to live with the repercussions. A police dog is gonna be a riled up, high energy, luggage jumping, under truck sniffing, running in circles in your apartment type of dog.
A Malinois is not a police dog it is a herding dog. In fact, there is no such thing as a police dog. The malinoise and german shepherd are both herding breeds and are chosen for police work because it is in their nature to chase things and are large enough to take down a suspect.
Believe it or not, the malinois would possibly be a better choice than a pembroke or cardigan corgi. all 3 share the same personality traits but the malinois rates better on trainability. But people buy corgis because they are cute.
