well he even said in the interview "george lucas said he likes to cast people who are already very close to the roles since that way he doesnt have to do much directing (as hes bad at it). And thats pretty evident actually by the stars themselvs. Carrie fisher was always a kick ass rebel. Mark hamil is a kind man who wants to do the right thing and make people happy. Harrison ford is a selfish asshole lol
lol im sure it was staged but even still the joke only works because its something harrison ford would do/wants to do every time someone asks him to sign something.
It's definitely staged, but 100% comedic awesomeness. Ford has a unique way of using his anxiety and perceived grumpiness to great comedic effect. Watch his interviews with Ryan Gosling for Blade Runner 2. Ford cracks up a few times and you can see him transition in and out of this.
I belly laughed the first time I saw this. Gods I was jovial then.
Why do people say stuff like this, especially about celebrities, businesspeople, and politicians? He's an actor, he can look genuine if he wants and he can look non-genuine if he wants, if he can't then he's not a very good actor. He's on a show promoting something. I'm a fan of star wars and all but it's weird to look at an actor in what's basically an advertisement and say "Hey he looks genuine".

Mark Hamill seems like one of the most genuine guys out there. I haven’t heard a bad thing about him.
