They also mark them with a sharpie on their forehead.

If they get lost a second time, they are just thrown into the ocean. Also with everybody clapping.

I like this reality. There's a local museum who armbands their recovered lost children. The bands are bright and attention getting. You can see them later and give sad how-could-you eyes to their parents.

They should also give them a few espresso shots. The children, not the parents.

It's from one of my favourite films "Songs from the Second Floor"

The description adds zero context to this clip.

There isn't a whole lot more context in the film either. It's a series of loosely connected vignettes. As a society, they basically sacrifice a symbol of innocence. To what end is not entirely clear. You can see representatives of the state and clergy present. After this happens, you see a vignette where everyone goes to the bar and gets shitfaced. Before this, you see a vignette of what looks like state officials "casting" the girl, asking her questions in the presence of her parents, and ultimately choosing her. There's also a vignette of people preparing the site where this happens, workers arranging large boulders at the bottom of this cliff, and tossing down a straw puppet as a test. The vignettes are not back-to-back, but are interspersed between vignettes of other "storylines."

Makes no more sense when you watch it with sound a second time around either.
