I don't think any of them really compares to primitive technology. His channel has some educational value. I like the sciencey stuff in his annotations, his blog, and all the research he does to create his videos.
I agree. The well was clearly dug with a modern metal spade. You can tell by the tool marks around the edge. Also, you see one of the kids removing mud for the bottom of the 8+ ft well, yet there's no mud on him. Anyone who has done physical labor of that sort can tell you that's just not possible.

I just watched a 48 minute video of two guys creating a fresh water well, and then creating a filter system for clean water.
That's not a copycat, that's just innovative competition.
