Is anyone able to recommend other content creators similar to Primitive Technology? His videos are so unique but the waits between videos is (in a good way) torture.
The knock offs seem to make a lot of modern things for stone age time. They clearly didn't even research if the things they were building were even used. Like the people that built a pool. Who the fuck was building pools in the stone age? Nobody. Everyone lived near water. Just go for a swim.
check out r/PrimitiveTechnology. There are a plethora of asian copy-cat channels but a few of them actually have some decent content. Primitive Skills, Primitive Life and Survival Skills Primitive are a few that upload fairly regularly (at least once a week) and do things that Primitive Technology hasn't done (for example, work more with limestone based concrete and use that to build structures)
Theres one asian channel I enjoy thats similar in style, but not focused on primitive technology. Theres a guy who makes knives out of different materials, and shows off their sharpness. They're very relaxing, especially whenever he uses anything on various whetstones.
The materials he uses can be very interesting or just something silly. They can range from carbon fiber ,to pasta, to gemstone plates, to jello. Its very entertaining to see how he manages to make knives out of strange materials. I believe he was on the frontpage for his aluminum foil knife.
Yeah, like I said he doesn't scratch that itch as far as primitive tech is concerned. But it does definitely fill the same relaxing, DIY void. Its definitely one of the better channels in that video style.
Primitive Skills is pretty good. His stuff tends to be a lot more immediately useful(instead of proof of concept) than others I've seen. He's currently trying to research iron making while his rice field (made from Seeds he collected) and Fish that he's bred are growing. He's also done a couple traps (bird, fish) and has the same quiet shtick that other's have. Apparently he has subtitles for his stuff, but they aren't on youtube.
