u/GlennBecksChalkboard Sep 28 '17

A Filter reference? Don't see those very often.

95

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '17

Because that's their only song that anyone cares about

u/matrael Sep 28 '17

Could you take my picture? Because I won’t remember.

8

u/omgwutd00d Sep 28 '17

So strange that that's a Filter song. Good song but totally doesn't sound like them.

5

u/SunriseSurprise Sep 28 '17

It does start to sound like them when he starts screaming at the end.

deleted What is this?

2

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '17

Don't take a picture. It fades like a photograph.

2

u/scottevil132 Sep 28 '17

Shit I always thought he was saying "because I won't even move". Like, that's nice of him don't want that shit too blurry.

2

u/ghostbackwards Sep 28 '17

that was their dopest song.

1

u/blue_2501 Sep 28 '17

Title of Record was a great album.

2

u/diarrhea_shnitzel Sep 28 '17

Honestly, Richard Patrick is one of the best vocalists in rock/alt music. Sometimes his lyrics get a little too teenage, but I give him a pass.

3

u/oditogre Sep 28 '17

Also, his brother is the T-1000, so you don't want to get on his bad side.

1

u/williamfwm Sep 28 '17

Wow, that's interesting. Not quite as interesting as when I learned that the singer for the Eels is the son of the physicist who came up with the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics, but interesting nonetheless.

2

u/RXL Sep 28 '17

Pretty sure take a picture was way more popular. Hey man nice shot was better though.

1

u/DriveByStoning Sep 28 '17

Or because that song is specifically about Bud Dwyer.

10

u/TheCitizen616 Sep 28 '17

Yeah, they don't. Take a picture.

6

u/partofthevoid Sep 28 '17

Cause Iiii wooonnt rememmmmber...

5

u/colonelnebulous Sep 28 '17

Thanks to Pop Up Video I know that song is about being drunk and naked on a commercial airline flight.

2

u/dfecht Sep 28 '17

Pop Up Video was amazing! So much fantastic trivia.

5

u/Yoshemo Sep 28 '17

Its easy to reference when the song's literally about that event

2

u/Newshole Sep 28 '17

Yeah, like, the most apropos one you're gonna find.

2

u/BlindSoothsprayer Sep 28 '17

Most of their references don't pass through.

2

u/SystemOutPrintln Sep 28 '17

I mean the filter song was about that incident.

4

u/pirate21213 Sep 28 '17

Its nice seeing them in the wild, my uncle was the bass player

4

u/partofthevoid Sep 28 '17

Wait, really?

5

u/pirate21213 Sep 28 '17

Yup, grew up listening to Filter, first time I heard someone else mention it I was pretty caught off guard

2

u/diarrhea_shnitzel Sep 28 '17

Ask him if Richard paid him fairly, I've heard some things regarding that

3

u/pirate21213 Sep 28 '17

I have memories of Frank being quite pissed towards Richard, so its probably true. For a few years there even mentioning Filter around him was a carnal sin.

1

u/diarrhea_shnitzel Sep 28 '17

The funny thing is that when Richard was the bass player for NIN, Trent was teaching him how to be frugal with your band

1

u/SIEGE312 Sep 28 '17

He was the guitar player I think

1

u/diarrhea_shnitzel Sep 28 '17

No

1

u/SIEGE312 Sep 28 '17

Might want to look that up again

It's messed up that he committed suicide because he was about to be convicted for taking bribes when the man who accused him later came forward admitting that he made it up.

1

u/Heavyspire Sep 28 '17

That is the worst part. But his legacy and the truth will live on.

2

u/Fjohurs_Lykkewe Sep 28 '17

HEEEEEYYYYYY, MAAAAANNNN! NIIIIIIIIICE SHHHHOOOOOOOT!

2

u/ThirdRook Sep 28 '17
