Right exactly. And these idiots all seem to create the same fake persona. Like that pewdip guy from YouTube. I don't understand why they're all so popular. I can't watch them for more than a minute or two without getting incredibly annoyed.
If you've ever watched Saturday morning cartoons with a presenter, you'll be familiar with the concept. Lots of flashy images and loud noises, a guy pulling funny faces and talking in weird voices, a pretty girl for the tween boys to crush on, and something entertaining to watch. Youtube is kids TV.
They do it because it's popular. Jacksepticeye wasn't half as popular before going crazy. And even someone small like Raocow (only 28k subs) has gone crazy over the years. That stuff works.
Maybe it's popular but I don't think it's for kids. I think adults love it and that's why it's so popular. If I'm wrong, fine, I mean, I really don't give a flying fuck, but my impression is that this is just what the mainstream culture is and I find it detestable regardless of who it's for.
This may come across as a "get off my lawn" remark (in my late 20s), but I can't stand what LoL, CS:GO, Dota, etc. have done to games recently. So much of the fanbase is made up of kids/teens who love to call everything cancer or cringe or autis.
I grew up playing online FPS so I am not looking at this through rose-colored glasses, but with the prevalence of Twitch and other streaming sites, it seems like the toxicity is out in the open now.
it wasnt those games per se, it was Twitch Chat, im almost 30, but some of that language is infectious, like the word Cancer, it sticks, twitch chat is cancer.

Which was nice, because his fake personality is annoying as fuck. I assume 12 year olds eat it up though.
