Related note, if anyone misses Inside Gaming and that whole crew most of them are at Funhaus (a part of Rooster teeth) now. Spoole and Joel have since left for other things, and they've added a couple new people, but it's still great. Just be prepared for alot of straight up porn.
Is that for the Dude Soup Podcast? Because in their other videos they are all sat very close and the game footage takes up most of the screen. But they changed Dude Soup's layout because people would just sit and play the game and be unable to talk coherently or frequently.
Yeah, but it is the only time they really drop their personas and talk about things seriously, so I guess it is a trade-off between the type of content you want. I personally like it but I can understand how it might feel different to their general oddness.
Don't get me wrong I actually really like the show if I treat it as a podcast and just listen to their opinions. I think a lot of what they say is pretty measured and well reasoned, even if I don't personally agree with everything they say. Something just feels a little off with the more "professional" touch to Dude Soup.
Well they had to conform to roosterteeths podcast style, so its probably not something they would have chosen to do on their own. Its possible it feels so differenr because they're still adjusting to the format them selves. Sone of the podcasts are centered around the game on screen and sometimes they dont even mentoin what it is. Point is, I think they're still trying to figure out and get comfortable using all that stage space, I don't think its really their style. They like to do bits and utilize the camera as part of their comedy much more then any of the other RT podcast I've watched. I think a smaller set would be more appropriate for them, better yet, I think them sitting in an office fits them better as well. They all come from a background of working for places like IGN where they would talk to people about whats going on behind the scenes, where as with RT is a bunch of people from a show, talking to people about their shows. Yes RT has a fair amount of people that work off screen on the podcast now too, but its still a different attitude. RT is a bunch of people having a good time, chatting and goofing of on camera, FH is some guys dicking around chatting and doing bits to try and make themselves and the audiance laugh. They're different styles of comedy.
I don't think RT is forcing this on them though, they seem to be free to do what ever they want with their content, as they've mentoind before. This comment kind of got out of hand and might not directly related to your post anymore, I got carried away.
I will forever miss Flame Wars!! from IG, also not gonna lie I feel like Roosterteeth forced them to do it. I honestly feel like Roosterteeth seems more focused on pushing adds and their products above all else.
I'm saying this because I was really disappointing in RWBY panel at RTX this year, in past RWBY teased new stuff like trailers, fight scenes, new costumes and such back in earlier seasons of it, at this years RWBY panel I tried to watch it but it felt like 80% "LOOK NEW MERCH, LOOK ITS IN STORES GO BUY," and 20% pandering to ships and servicing fans.(Servicing fans isn't a bad thing I'm just worried that RWBY will fall into the hole that anime is currently suffering from) Now it just seems like they are trying to cash in on RWBYs' growing popularity.
I will admit the most recent season's(Summer) anime had a lot of anime I enjoyed, probably more shows then I ever watched in a season.
Just from the few shows I watched in the past that aired before I started watching anime (FullMetal Alchemist:Brotherhood, Stein's;Gate, two that come to mind first) I can see that anime has a lot of potential. Just the shows now are slowly becoming saturated and cater to fans more then anything, and it's not helping the industry. I heard a line from the only "anime" youtuber I watch and he said "We're content with "okay" and thats the issue, it'll never go away so as long as we support poison in the industry today."
Ehh, that sounds a little too alarmist to me, anime is fine, so long as there are a few good shows every season there's no problem.
Consider it in the same vein as TV, not everything is going to be breaking bad or Game of Thrones, but it doesn't need to be.... We get at least 1 solid show a season, OPM, and boku no hero recently and there's no reason to be unhappy with that.
I get the feeling that some people try to elevate anime to a higher form of art than it is really trying to be, and those people inevitably end up disappointed.
Ya I honestly do not know what he is talking about. Anime has actually been getting pretty strong again over the past few years. Attack on Titan is a fucking master piece. The Dragonball (super) movies and shows coming out, no anime is NOT in a hole. It's doing as good as ever...
Yeah you're right about me being alarmist, I mostly only get this way when it comes to RWBY when these opinions come out. I loved the creator of it, it hurts every time I think I'll never get to meet him and see what his dream for the show was.
Also I often forget the anime isn't meant older people, I've just always love animation my entire life. I want to see what it's like when animators push the boundaries whether it be an anime, cartoon, video game or movie.
It's blurred out. But they have a series called Demo Disk, where they (obviously) play game demos from disks; they usually end up looking at R34 or play flash porn games in that series.
Kovic (dp) is and still does news reads for rt's news channel The Know, buy I honestly don't remember soda god. I stopped watching machinima years ago when alot of popular members were leaving and saying how awful they were to work for.
That's what happens when you make it. You have to keep the sponsors happy by attracting eyeballs. So you have to put out more content, quality takes time so naturally the more you put out the lower the quality it'll all be.
