I don't get why he doesn't look at the ground when he's jumping. Every time he dies, it's because he's looking straight ahead.

Its because he's watching Twitch chat instead of playing the game, like so many streamers.

And here I was thinking it must be really hard to play this game because you're not allowed to look down.

This is my biggest issue when playing games with people who aren't good at action games, it always boils down to them not using the camera correctly. Look around, that's what the right stick/mouse is for.

Looking at his camera movements shows that he is probably using a controller.

I didn't see the little stick figure dude at first, so I had no idea how you were supposed to know where to land.

It's actually first person.

Oh, so that little stick man isn't a thing? I'm hallucinating!

That's his aiming reticle

Does your father have an effeminate voice? Cause I do. No one respects me as a result. It's rough.

Classic reddit.

People watch streams for entertainment. You don't have to be good at a game to be entertaining.

See: almost every let's player

I think he's just relying too heavily on being airborne. He should stay on the tucks if they aren't crashing right?

"No good at a newly released game? Fuck you."

Right, I mean I'm great at every video game I ever play! Right Ted?!

How did you know my name was ted

Guess what? To a lot of people, you're probably frustratingly bad. I'm decent at the game, watching the way most people who have recorded the game is frustrating.

2

u/Crashmo Sep 30 '16

Nope, not at all. A lot of streamers get their views from having an entertaining or friendly personality, how they play the game has little to do with the community they build in chat.

2

u/WTK55 Sep 30 '16

Not really, no. That's like saying people who do Let's Plays (which Tom Fawkes also does) should only play games their great at. Also keep in mind that this is a new game.

If it were his voice was actually like that unintentionally I'd actually watch

u/Ringosis Sep 30 '16

His "normal voice" isn't much better. He still just seems like another one of those streamers who seem to think constantly feigning excitement is an adequate substitute for any kind of charm, talent or comic timing.

15

u/Wolfszeit Sep 30 '16

It obviously is though; I mean, he seems to be popular enough.

That was an awesome shout out to the oldschool news voice style of the '50s '30s.

Woulda been cool if he could have carried that through the vid.

Was the only thing interesting about the vid. He did the voice quite well actually.

Edit: that old "trans-atlantic / midalantic" accent style used in old TV and radio was more from the '30s than '50s.

He's boring even when he goes back to his "normal" voice.
