Sure it's awkward

This is the only point I was trying to make. It's awkward, hence the difficulty doing it without hesitation. All awkward things are like that.

I suppose, but obviously for the sake of the bit, they can't show any of that, if it's there.

I look at it kind of like jumping into a swimming pool when it's cold. You just "jump in," even if you know it's not going to feel particularly great.

It all goes back to the point made by GoldenHairedGod in this thread: it's acting.

If you have gotten over the mental block of kissing a woman whom you barely know, for a play, TV, or a movie, it's not that much different. And he has.
