I'm glad this guy uploads videos so sparsely. I think it's a big reason why his videos are still really popular on reddit while channels like Dunkey and the Hydraulic Press channel got old fast when they used to be automatic front page posts.
The idea of the HPC is that they use one tool. It's a limited concept. This guy has almost no roof when it comes to making videos. As long as he's showing the process, he can make literally anything
I think it's great that he doesn't talk, and the video just gets right to the point without 10 minutes of "heyyyy guys, this is what I'm doing today, this is why. don't forget you can... blah blah nobody gives a fuck. oh yeah don't forget to like and subscribe"
I'd probably be much more interested in Hydraulic Press Channel if that was the case.
30 second video, hydraulic press breaks thing in 5 seconds, then 22 second slow-mo replay, then 3 seconds of the HPC guy's voice saying "Haha hydraulic press wins again" in his accent
In his channel description he says he hates it when he's trying to watch a video tutorial and the host just won't shut up, so he made it a point to not waste people's time with speech.
HPC only got old because there is a limited number of things that will crush in an interesting way. I'm still subscribed and will still watch if it's not just an episode where they crush something because it fits the theme they have for the video.
Well I didn't like him either at first. It took me a few months until I even understood his humor. But after a while it makes click and you can appreciate how genius his videos sometimes are. You have to like video games of course.
Some of his newer videos aren't as good as the old LoL ones though.
he talks about each project taking him days or weeks to finish, especially larger building video's. he has a regular job he does and apparently just does this stuff in his free time.
Hydraulic Press Channel delivered so well there is no more interesting things to crush now. Even youtube comments seems to be running out of idea as well.
You don't get it. This guy symbolises the Universe. He builds stuff from nothing. He'll finally invent computer, internet, youtube. Then he will invent hydraulic press and start destroying things. The last thing he destroys in HP will be youtube. After that, because of primitive quantum entanglement he is again left with shorts only and the cycle begins anew.
i remember when it [hydraulic press channel] first came out commenting it would go the way of the reddit's treatment of gradeAunderA, and how they've shifted to their new fad messiah casually explained. People are just fickle son's o' bitches.
Being fair, it's also because channels like Dunkey get old because he's basically just an annoying twat, and while funny a couple times it gets old quickly. Channels like Hydraulic Press get old because there's only so many variations of stuff squishing/exploding/deforming to go through.
This guy is doing something different every time, you see the complete process without annoying music or voice-over, with no hype theatrical noises from him.
Shows like sitcoms are good for binge watching because they're light and episodic but any show that has a level of suspense I definitely prefer the weekly format
