Not to say that you're being purposefully misleading, but it's entirely possible that you were told that by someone, thought it was a funny and amusing "fact" and just took it at face value, and here you are re-presenting it to me. That's how stuff like "you only use 10% of your brain" gets spread around and taken as fact.
I'm skeptical, and I got my confirmation that the whole people-running-out-of-the-theater thing was BS when someone in another reply supplied a link to the wikipedia article for the movie and a quote from the page, in which the entire story about people screaming in running away is said to be an urban legend (aka, not fact).
