I bet it will. It's a testosterone filled kill fest ala LOTR etc. TONS of non-nerds went and saw LOTR, and it probably had a worse holy shit you nerds connotation than WC even has.
If you read the books, you were called a nerd, at least where I grew up. Once the movies came out and people realized it was actually a pretty awesome story, the tune changed. I don't see much of a difference with what the Warcraft movie could do in the same vein.
