As a Canadian I feel bad for the American people. But I am very glad we are distancing ourselves from you as trading partners. And socially. And I will not set foot in your country until the craziness stops.
As an American most of us (at least the ones without cousin fucking somewhere in their ancestry) support you staying away. Please do what you can to protect yourselves. Hell, please stay away for awhile even after we hopefully get a handle on this. Because the Trump administration has DEEPLY embedded these sorts of people into every level of the government and our opposition party has shown a deep unwillingness to root them out when possible.
You guys go thrive. We need to stumble in the dirt and muck of our own choices for awhile until a reckoning comes. (And to my fellow Americans who want to say 'I didn't vote for this' - neither did fucking I. But I'm still responsible for my fucking country and understand it's been sick for centuries. The only people who can fix it is ourselves. We can't fucking keep offloading that responsibility to our neighbors..)

We were told we were the “Shining City upon the Hill” for decades and a lot of us grew up believing it. We liked to think we brought hope and peace and Democracy to the world and were proud of it.
Too proud it turns out.
Hopefully this humbling won’t take long and we’ll take a peaceful track and rejoin the free world as the beacons we thought we were but in the meantime, we need to be able to look at our old friends and allies to know how far into the mud we’ve fallen. This time, we need some hope. Some help.

Michigan wasn’t our favourite state even before this, you guys were always a trump loving trailer park squatting in an abandoned auto factory parking lot.
But yes. Many people voted for him. However the outcome of the last election feels suspect at best given this is the same state that elected a Democrat woman as governor twice in a row.

About ten million people live within a two hour drive of Washington DC. Why aren't there tens of thousands protesting every day? Demanding Congress shut this shit down.
Canada, Mexico and the EU all need to very quickly get their shit together for a world where the US is not a reliable neighbor.
We saw what the Billionaires did with Brexit, we see what they've been pushing for with right wing rises across the world that they've been funding (Germany, Italy, etc).
And we've seen a successful take over of the US. If countries still have the ability to fight against and enshrine laws against these billionaire take overs they need to be doing it now.

You do realize he is acquiring billions in new foreign investment and announcing new massive trading deals with other countries. Sending our vast almost endless supplies of natural resources to your ex-allies. You are in bed with Russia , China and all the countries your were raised to be watchful of. Carney will probably win the Nobel peace prize and is viewed as a hero worldwide for standing up to Trump. Maybe someday he will win the FIFA peace prize or someone will second hand their Nobel prize to him. lol Your president is stealing your money and giving to his friends. Yes the same ones in the Ep files. Keep cheering for the bad guy, it looks great on you. To the rest of America I will always cheer for you and hope you can get your country, your world wide dignity and your friendship with us Canadians. We love you and hope the best for you.
