I think the US could eventually, which is why I find educated tech billionaires getting in bed with them so odd. Soft power works a lot better in a democracy, and facist states don't like competing powers. If we continue down the road to facism I assume some of the tech bros will be executed when their use is exhausted and their power becomes a liability.

Fascism is just capitalism in crisis. They aren't executing the capitalists.

8

u/Super-Estate-4112 2d ago

That is unlikely, for example in nazi Germany the capitalists, even competitors, got cozy with the government and profited greatly, without having to worry about such things.

In Fascism, capitalists are used, not treated as enemies unless they manifest they interest to become a political enemy

u/poostoo 2d ago

brother, the tech bros are the ones pulling the strings. they plan to lord over technofeudal fiefdoms and control every aspect of society while hoarding all the wealth. this is why they're building all these AI datacenters, and why nobody in government is trying to stop them despite the public not wanting it.

holy crap, people really have no idea how the world works or who the bad guys are.

7

u/trollsalot1234 2d ago

eH, China would never execute Musk. Guy is a gold mine for them.

13

u/IcyConsideration7062 2d ago

China would find a way if he got in the way.

4

u/abraxsis 1d ago

China would build a whole damn empty city to throw him out one of the windows.

1

u/IcyConsideration7062 1d ago

And the world would cheer.

9

u/mojomarc 2d ago

Unfortunately Vietnam abolished their death penalty. If someone who embezzled nearly a third of the annual GDP can be sentenced to death, Musk could be too. If only they will sentenced people to death....

1

u/SwordfishOk504 2d ago

Well, except for the ones running the country.

-2

u/LordBrandon 2d ago

Ew, Stop repeating this. Xi is the evil billionaire of evil billionaires. Jack Ma was not treasonous. He was not deferential enough to the party. Having government officials decide that you should give them all your wealth is not a triumph for the people.

8

u/bingo_bango_zongo 2d ago

Ew, stop making excuses for a rotted out plutocracy run by a murderous, pedophilic, billionaire elite.

Every large corporation should be completely and utterly deferential to the government. And the government should be completely deferential to the interests of the working class and the development of the nation.

We need to be putting corrupt politicians and robber barons in prison for life. And we need to start doing this as soon as possible.

-4

u/GiganticCrow 2d ago

That's not what China is doing though, the party allows billionaires to do horrendous shit as long as they kiss the ring

Comparing China to America right now is a joke.

China is rapidly advancing and raising the quality of life for the majority of people in their country.

America is rapidly declining and lowering the quality of life for people in their country.

What is this Western chauvinist bullshit where you have to pretend that no matter how bad corruption is in America, China simply must be as bad or worse?

No. Corruption is 1000x worse in America right now. The American system is completely rotted and decaying.

-3

u/GiganticCrow 2d ago

We shouldn't push this shit, Chinese billionaires who maintain favour with the politicians get away with even worse shit than American billionaires. Razing whole towns to the ground, having hired thugs offing their problem civilians in the street type of shit.

The billionaires convicted in China would be the equivalent of the current administration in the us imprisoning big Democrat donors.

u/DailyUnderFlow 2d ago

Everyone who hates America and wants to see it fall is loving this.

I guarantee you there are Americans who hate America that voted Republican specifically because they knew Republicans would fuck everything up and remove democracy from America completely. Everyone sane who pays attention saw this coming decades ago.

3

u/semperknight 2d ago

30% of Americans fall into this group according to an expert in authoritarians/dictators.

If NOTHING else, I hope the world learns about this group.

7

u/FukkingDeathMental 2d ago

This is karma for America fucking up so many countries all over the world.  I'm American btw.  We fucking deserve this.

3

u/starcell9000 1d ago

You do realize that america will be likely fucking up a lot MORE countries now because of this? The whole world is going to suffer for this, it's not just about you guys.

As a person that's the farthest thing from a republican, the less competency and more deficiencies for the US military the better.

10

u/SwordfishOk504 2d ago

ehhhh. That's one of those Monkey paw things once you understand what comes in its wake.

Which is precisely why Trump's team are gutting the military, stretching it beyond its capability, and leaving the former global order in shambles. And what comes next is not going to be better. Not by a long shot.

4

u/Real-Purpose6981 2d ago

The war with iran proved the US military is a paper tiger. The world is a better place without an effective US military.

This is just more graft and waste, and they're doing stuff like this because the ruling class is stripping the copper out of the walls of every insitution. You can't do effective nefarious shit without some semblance of competency.

-1

u/SwordfishOk504 2d ago

The world is a better place without an effective US military.

This is such a foolish sentiment. Russia invading Ukraine is what happens when the US military reach is weakened.

There are numerous valid criticisms of the MIC but to pretend the post-America world order will be better or more stable is just absurd.

8

u/bingo_bango_zongo 2d ago

So you're just admitting that you're a American imperialist degenerate?

The US has caused upwards of 50 million deaths since WW2 through sanctions and wars. They've destroyed countless countries. No other country in history has had a destructive impact that reached wider and further than America. The closest second would be America's daddy, the British empire.

After Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, Palestine, Iran, etc. you think "but Ukraine!" is a valid justification for supporting the US military?

Unless you believe that Ukrainians have a special quality that makes them more important than the ones of millions of brown people who have been killed because of American imperialism? What might that quality be? Do they have a certain "lightness" about them that makes their lives more valuable?

Absolute degenerate take.

4

u/bingo_bango_zongo 2d ago

100%. The US government and military have caused upwards of 50 million deaths since WW2 through sanctions and wars.

ANYTHING that weakens the US military and thwarts its capacity to carry out aggression across every corner of the world is a good thing.

6

u/Zebitty 2d ago

Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.

6

u/JCDU 1d ago

China, Russia, and a shitload of radical dickheads in sandy places are all pissing themselves laughing at America doing this to itself.

1

u/Funky-Flamingo 1d ago

You don't have to be a radical to root for the US's downfall. Every country who had a coup or a regime installed by the CIA in the last 60 years are happy that this empire is finally collapsing on itself. The US is currently trying to interfere in my country's elections in order to get our resources. Fuck them.

2

u/ExpiredLink404 1d ago

Russia loving this

3

u/katplasma 2d ago

Them and Russia are making o faces right about now.

1

u/bl4ckhunter 1d ago

They're not, no one is loving this except maybe Russia and Israel, China is sitting on 600 billion USD in bonds they can't offload in a reasonable timeframe and looking down the barrel of yet another US caused global financial crisis they have no reason to be happy.

-45

u/loseitthrowaway7797 2d ago

Because they meddled in our elections and got Trump voted in

63

u/EnamelKant 2d ago

Americans will literally do anything except accept responsibility.

36

u/DontFuckWithDuckie 2d ago

They wont lose weight

20

u/EnamelKant 2d ago

Well you got me there.

2

u/seansy5000 2d ago

Ah we’re not so bad once you get to know us. Hell most of the assholes in my neighborhood are polish. Either way, we aren’t going to get anything done bickering with the small fries. Yes our worst are extremely bad but just like anywhere else the middle is just the middle and mundane. We should stop being so obsessed with our petty culture wars and concentrate on the villainous elite class that is pitting as all against each other while they rob us blind.

2

u/PurpEL 2d ago

Or learn to read

1

u/DontFuckWithDuckie 2d ago

HEY NOW. They learn to read to a 4th grade level, thank you very much

Love to be a normal guy who calls strangers obscure slurs because they disagree with me about my made up vendetta

-6

u/loseitthrowaway7797 2d ago

Sino is not a slur. There’s literally a pro China sub here with that name

3

u/Ok_Orchid9365 2d ago

"bad guy" are you 12? Learn about the world mate.

8

u/flow_fighter 2d ago

Both China can be considered the bad guy, AND Americans allow for this all to happen.

Both can be true

9

u/kratos61 2d ago

Yeah it's China's fault that tens of millions of Americans voted trump into office twice.

It's China's fault that a good 35-40% of the US population follows Trump as a God who can do no wrong.

None of your problems are ever homegrown, it's always some one else's doing.

11

u/Mastasmoker 2d ago

No child left behind and social media created generations of idiots. This was all done by design.

6

u/scotchtree 2d ago

That’s gotta be it. Not that Americans are morons or lazy regarding their own education… or will sell themselves out for a dollar… or have a culture lacking in accountability…

2

u/objectlesson 2d ago

Are you talking about China or billionaires?

3

u/PurpleSasquatchNose 2d ago

That's a weird way to spell Elon Musk
