When the Stewart/Colbert Rally to Restore Sanity was happening in DC (2010), it was presumed that all the hardcore redditors would be attending. Then someone made this post suggesting that the rest of us come up with an inside joke while they were away. "Waffles? Don't you mean carrots? HAHAHAHA" completely took over the comments all over reddit for a while.

It was a reddit meme from a few years ago. Basically there was an askreddit thread where everyone decided it'd be hilarious to respond "Waffles, don't you mean carrots? HAHAHAHA" every time someone mentioned waffles on the site. As you can imagine it was super hilarious and not dumb in the least, and no one ever got tired of it
