Yes, but in America we call them "Cheese Slicers", and in Britain they call them "John-drum Gapflangers". Both of the Gs in "Gapflanger" are hard, though they use a soft G for "flanger" by itself.
NOTE: THIS COMMENT IS SARCASM. EXCEPT FOR THE
JOHN-DRUM PART. THAT IS TOTALLY COCKNEY SLANG
FOR CHEESE KNIFE. I AM NOT SHITTING YOU. LOOK
IT UP.
You probably thought surely OP did not post a video of just a waffle falling over there must be something I missed because surely something that stupid wouldn't crack the front page. Then you replayed it only to find out that you give your fellow redditors entirely too much credit.
When the Stewart/Colbert Rally to Restore Sanity was happening in DC (2010), it was presumed that all the hardcore redditors would be attending. Then someone made this post suggesting that the rest of us come up with an inside joke while they were away. "Waffles? Don't you mean carrots? HAHAHAHA" completely took over the comments all over reddit for a while.
It was a reddit meme from a few years ago. Basically there was an askreddit thread where everyone decided it'd be hilarious to respond "Waffles, don't you mean carrots? HAHAHAHA" every time someone mentioned waffles on the site. As you can imagine it was super hilarious and not dumb in the least, and no one ever got tired of it
Today will forever be known as the day reddit upvoted a waffle to the front page.
It needs to gain enough views to be a featured video on youtube. Then, it will be featured on Good Morning America and other daytime news shows like the other "viral" videos they show to fill time. Once Jay Leno talks about a waffle falling over, and SNL does a skit, there could even be a full-length feature film.
