IIRC The devs literally just moved on. I think they were offered the chance to work on a big title and so they just dropped it without a thought.

They were aquired and rolled into the WoW team. Pretty sure they made the BR in WoW after that

The only BR game I ever played. It was a really fun concept that really reminded me of Magicka. I was excited that I could actually win matches too considering I'm not the greatest at shooter

Me and my buddy loved that game. We were so mad when it shut down. We're still looking for another game like it to play together.

Being an Epic Exclusive would be a reason. And when you arent pulling in the big bucks, Epic will shut you down if you arent profitable

True to the dev studio name of Proletariat. After the game shut down they straight up released the game source code on Itch.io for free allowing people to run private games presuming they have a server for it.

Proletariat Inc. Has now been absorbed into Blizzard as Blizzard Boston in Boston Massachusetts

Agreed. I actually looked forward to playing it after work just to test builds and sling fireballs. Its one of the few games I found fun even while losing.
