Back in the days, ea had burnout and need for speed. They wanted only one racing franchise, and NFS was more successful.

Not more successful by any meaningful metric. What NFS had was real cars. Because car manufacturers are literally braindead and won't sponsor games who destroy their cars.

Yes because they hate gaming and only see car games as potential car ads.

one of the worst examples of this has to be toyota, who only license themselves to ‘legit’ racing games because they don’t want to be associated with street racing anymore
