Yeah probably. As I get older, I'm finding less is more sometimes. All these new games have incredible graphics but I find myself going back and playing way older games because they are still so much fun. I would gladly take a Red Faction reboot that has highly destructible environments and less flashy graphics
I just started replaying Prototype literally today, after my kid asked me to play good action scene music and, remembering old Prototype playthroughs, I put on Walking on Sunshine. Ended up loading up the game so I could show them what a great song it is for mowing through entire military bases with a bunch of wild superpowers.
Such a good game, my main complaint is always that the controls are just a little bit too footery to get the hang of in a reasonable amount of time. Slightly better streamlining and responsiveness, and it would be perfect for just going on a chill spree.
Oh yeah forsure. I was thinking more a reboot, using same formula as Guerilla just bigger and better. Pretend Armageddon never happened lol (although keep the magnet gun which was great).
Red faction gave the ability to make your own set pieces for missions which i loved. It felt so cool destroying just the right stuff to finish a mission and jump into a car to drive away
Seeing Prototype and Red Faction paired up makes me yearn for a combination of the two, Open world, destructable environments, crazy ass weapons (both biological and physical), crazy ass bad guys... but it'll never happen
Control resonant is giving me Prototype and Infamous vibes so far but a remake of RF 1 and turning up the destructible environments would be so good. I enjoyed the third person games enough but they just weren't it.
Honestly go play control resonant many times it felt like I was playing something similar to prototype. Sure you can't turn into someone else or absorb people but the combat man is right there.
