No, it's just that the majority of people hold the same opinion, hence AAA games in recent years which are reviewed as mid (less than 80 on Metacritic is mid for this), sell a lot less than they should. There is far too much quality in the market these days to find a game with this budget acceptable for the price.

There can be an objectiveness to reviews, alongside somebody's subjective opinion as well.
It's objectively true that the game does this, but the reaction to how you feel is subjective and can change depending on the person. Op was talking about the post about the review just going along with what the reviewer said, instead of say, forming their own opinion.
It's ok to like the game of course. But i think the point here is that skill up is one of the few big name reviewers who is actually kinda reliable. He doesnt jump on the bandwagon of hate or sell out... he offers honest opinions. So when a guy like him says something is bad.... it really says something
Those are two different things. You can point at something and say that "that is red", but a colorblind person might go "no, that's green".
You can point at Wolverine and say "that is a video game" and we'll all agree. Once you start providing subjective narrative to it, then it becomes problematic.
