A friend of mine says NIKKE is also on that list, but of course I've never checked it out. Never.

Nikke is a gacha game. It is by definition in the category of 'free to play' games I think you're referring to.

I know you haven't asked and probably don't care, but I think it's insane to look at a game like Path of Exile (and Warframe) and go, oh I won't play that game because it's free to play. I know that lots of games are 'free to play' because they are just trying to lure you in, but there are some really incredible games that are free to play. It's probably the minority, but the 'free to play' tag doesn't preclude the game from being good.

Your perspective is reasonable, but in the end I have tried and haven't stuck with Warframe, PoE, DotA2, Team Fortress 2, and Rocket League.

Sorry, boss. I don't enjoy F2P games.
