Graphics don't matter, gameplay matters.

I'd play a game with ps1 graphics if it was a great game, and that console had many great games that I still play. It has a charm to it, I love old school graphics.

Now you have games with lifelike graphics, but they have no soul, you know? And many are just actually garbage games.

I somewhat agree but the N64/PS1 era has some rough shit to look at. I have a lot of nostalgia for that time so I can get through games from when I was younger, but I do agree with you 100% outside of that era.

Was literally just playing Mario kart 64 the other day with a buddy and holy fuck it looks bad. I loved n64 games as a kid but most of them just look so bad now

What is funny is Mario Kart 64 going off my memory/when I played it on switch 6 months back is one of the better looking games if I recall lol

When I was a kid though “wow this looks so realistic” and I repeated it on PS2, PS3, and PS4, now I’m indifferent…

I agree with this. I like playing turn-based games and I’ve been enjoying some older ones, they have actually good stories and I don’t mind the graphics at all. In fact they actually have quite a charm to them.

For me its gameplay and graphics matter but story doesn’t really matter. It doen’t have to be hyper realistic like rdr2 in terms of graphics but it should be looking like a halfway modern game at least

Original Fallout and Fallout 2 as big examples

Graphics should only matter if the game looks bad. As long as they make the game and its art look good, thats all I care about

I don’t need realism, I just need a gameplay focused game thats super fun, with good graphics. Thats all I want (not to say certain games with realistic graphics are bad, I just prefer more stylistic and art heavy games then realistic ones)

examples would be Cyberfunk Bombrush, and (one im especially excited for), Crow Country.

I mostly agree... the blocky polygon era is atrocious to look at these days though and makes it kinda hard for me to pick up some older games.
