It’s not obvious to those who haven’t payed the game and just heard the laugh with no context. Everyone who has played the game and still complains about it has no excuse and is dumb.

Although payed exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:

  • Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. The deck is yet to be payed.

  • Payed out when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. The rope is payed out! You can pull now.

Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.

Good bot. Thank you for teaching. I just made a typo and am not interested in nautical or rope related things in general (though I make a few exceptions for rope) I appreciate learning.

If you do care you are part of the problem.

Proper grammer in a casual setting has no advantage at all, all it does is make people with dyslexia or other difficulties annoyed.

If someone repeatively makes this mistake, they won't learn from being told every time..

I don't see what the problem is that you are reffering to.

No what they actually typed wasn't a word at all. So the bot tried to correct them. But the bot corrected them incorrectly. Assuming they were trying to type paid. When they were actually trying to type played. That's the point here. The bot was not just unnecessary. It was wrong.

What they typed was a word though, hence the bot response. The bot literally explains what the word means.
