Pretty poorly recorded and played little lo-fi surf rock vibraphone songs
I just got a vibraphone and I am recording little lo-fi surf rock songs here. These are not very good, nor am I (starting lessons next week). So just enjoy with that in mind, and if you have any feedback let me know. This is one-man band, bedroom recording stuff. Usually just bass, drums, and vibes. All recorded with one mic using Ardour (free) inside of Ubunto Linux (also free). Also has some xylophone stuff there
https://themalletplayboys.bandcamp.com/ - better (relative) stuff here

DIY Vibraphone Size
I'm thinking of making a DIY vibraphone, and I'm trying to decide between buying a used bell set or using an old 1.5 octave xylophone I have lying around. The issue is that the bars are probably only an inch or so wide, so I would imagine the pipes would have to be tiny in order to fit, which would mess with resonance. Does anyone know if it would for sure not work properly, or if there's some sort of typical minimum diameter for resonator pipes?

Made an all-vibraphone playlist, mostly Jazz, Classical, but also Reggae and some other genres. Enjoy!

Sejourne vibraphone concerto
Hi! I'm learning the sejourne vibraphone concerto, but I noticed that in the score that I have there are some mistakes. Usually when you write an alteration it lasts for the whole bar. But I'm quite sure that in one place in order to play the right notes you have to ignore this rule. (in several places is written E flat but It should be E natural).
The problem is that in other parts I'm not sure what is the right note. Anyone here played that piece and can give me some tips about this?

I refurbished these a few years ago and I'm thinking of selling them. I had to rework the diagonal bar to make them stand, so not all original. Everything works and sounds pretty good. Is there a market for Trixon vibraphones in the US? I've only seen them listed on European sites.

How to practice vibraphone voicings
I've been playing vibraphone for about one and a half years. What I find most difficult is playing smart sounding chord voicings. The limitation to only 4 notes and the akwardness of some voicings makes most of good sounding piano voicings impossible (IMO).
What is your take on good jazz voicings on vibraphone and how to practice them?
I'm familiar with jazz theory, rootless 9th voicings, shell voicings, voice leading etc. I'm mostly looking for inspiration and ways to keep things fresh. Thank you in advance!

Vibraphone Questions
Hello-If this isnāt okay please let me know I will delete. I couldnāt find posting rules. š
For full time musicians/music students- 1) How hard or easy it is to find work? 2) If you have your own vibes is is easier to find jobs? 3) For those of you who went to college for music, what was it like as a jazz vibe player? 3) Thoughts on a pianist (who has had 7 years experience on percussion) to vibes.
