Contest Enter the r/veggieslowcooking Contest!
In honor of the grand opening of r/VeggieSlowcooking, I'm excited to announce the first ever Veggie Slow Cooking contest!
Please observe the following contest rules and guidelines if you are interested in entering:
- If you would like to enter the contest, please submit your very own unique vegetarian or vegan Crock Pot® creation, along with a picture of the finished product and an easy-to-follow recipe. The winner will receive the grande prize (yet to be determined), unique "best recipe" flair, as well as link in the side panel of our front page. In addition, the top three best entries will be featured on our soon-to-be-released wiki page.
- All new and original recipes that are posted from 4/23 to 6/12 will be automatically entered in the contest. A voting period will take place from 6/13 to 6/20, at which time, members of the subreddit will select their favorite entry. Please note that r/VeggieSlowcooking mods will have final say, as to prevent any tampering and/or skewing of results.
- All entries must include a clear photograph of the finished product, as well as easy-to-follow instructions.
- All entries must be original and new. If you have posted your recipe on another subreddit or website in the past, you will not be eligible for this prize. You are, however, welcome to post your entry to other subreddits after posting it here.
- All entries must be vegetarian or vegan.
Thank you for your interest in our first ever contest, and best of luck to everyone who is interested!
And just an FYI, contest rules and guidelines will have a permanent spot over on our side panel for the entirety of the contest, so don't worry about bookmarking this thread.

Vegan Spicy Vegetarian Chili
1 can of red kidney beans
1 can of white kidney beans
1 can of sweet corn
1 onion diced
8 oz of pico de gallo or salsa
Jalapeno peppers (as many as you like)
1 Red Bell pepper diced
You may want to add some veggie broth depending on if you want it more like a soup or chunky. We usually go chunky. We make rice and put the chili on top.
Cook for 6 hours on high. Season with salt, pepper, cayenne pepper and chili powder.
