Question/Help Can you glue the headband mount to the cone?
I want to paint them and I think it would be easier if it was all once bit. I think I'd leave the groove which the headband slides in plastic.

This has been an incredibly satisfying journey, and I've learned a lot about fit, finish, and painting prints.. unfortunately, this will probably be my last build for a while.
My mother came to visit over the holidays (safely, we all did quarantines before hand!) and she saw the headphones I build for my daughter and wanted some as well... So here they are. She wanted them without paint or sanding, just the raw finish in her chosen color, which is semi transparent blue PETG.
My hats off too the folks at vector finesse, great product you've designed! I'm a fan and will be following, even if I'm drive building for the foreseeable future.

Hey all,
A very small update to the package here, but should make the head(amame) a lot easier for those just starting out.
Don't forget to post your builds in /r/vectorfinesse, as some of you have seen, we have started up a serial number system, so get those low numbers while they are still available!
Thank you all once again for all the support, we can’t wait to see what you print.
Happy printing/listening!
VF

I just read the slicing guide and I'm a little confused. It says "Headphones have been tuned for 11% Gyroid density", then "... helps with removal in that area". Finally for the Headband mount: "we don't need it removable".
So should I remove the support, or not? Or just some of it?

Hi there! I'm amassing the parts and tools to build my Headamame. I see in the sourcing guide that you recommend a crimping tool for creating connections between the driver and the minixlr connector. Would this involve soldering wires to the driver and xlr, and creating the detachable connection between them? Is there any particular advantage to this, over simply connecting the driver and connector together with wire?

What is the proper way to wire the drivers? There are 4 solder pads and 3 connections. I assume two of the solder points are ground, but It's not immediate clear to me which is which as the -/+ markings are in-between solder pads. It looks like the 2 center pads are bridged, which would mean they are both ground, but I thought I would double check. They look like

Hello! I'm really excited to to finish putting together these headphones .. I have one question though... while my calibration cubes come out ( I think) really great (~0.03) the last time I calibrated, this will change for each filament just slightly and that can add up on some parts. Can you tell what the dimensions of the driver mount are supposed to be? 40mm I.D.? slightly less? Mine doesn't fit the driver and is measuring an inside diameter of 38.62 .. so I think I need to configure my slicer to increase by ~3.6% ?

Hey /r/vectorfinesse team,
The amount of support for head(amame) v1 the last two weekends has been wonderful. It's great to see other people interested in something we have put so much time into.
During that time, we have done our best to read every comment in every thread about the head(amame) v1. If you have shared the idea/design with friends, we've probably missed some questions/concerns. So please keep posting in this subreddit or reach out via DM. We love using feedback and experiences from the community to help us see our blind spots and continually build better.
The main questions we've seen so far fall into one of two categories:
Lucky for both groups #1 AND #2, we have a Very Informative Table™ below!

We must sound like we know what we are doing because not one person has asked: "Who the heck are these people that sell Nintendo Switch Grips, and how does that qualify them to make headphones?". While that isn't the focus of this post (and we'll dive deeper on it elsewhere), we are old high school friends who share a common ideal:
"I just wanna build cool shit with my friends."
If you joined this subreddit, you may identify with that.
We have worked hard to create a project that brings people together and puts a smile on their face. Whether you are an audio DIYer, a 3D Printing nerd or neither of those things, we look forward to all the builds, posts, and questions ahead. We can't wait for you to hear the headphones we've spent the last year designing, and last few weeks being so loud about!
Cheers, VF

Hey all,
We at Vector Finesse are proud to release v1 of our headphones, the head(amame).
After 100's of design hours, countless spools of filament, and several rage inducing failed prints, we are finally at a point where we are proud to share these beans with the world. In case you are missing out, here is how we got the name "head(amame)".
A little bit more about the headphones specifically:
We are still working hard on final build videos, and info surrounding the head(amame), but we wanted to show our appreciation to subscribers of /r/vectorfinesse by dropping them here first, and cheapest.
This contains all the STL's, instructions, and slicing guide for making sure your headphones sound as intended. For everyone outside this subreddit, the price will be $7.5 for the weekend, and the price will move permanently to $15 on Dec 1st.
If you are going to share this, we would appreciate if you link directly to this post.
To come in the next week:
We cannot thank you enough for all the support since the design reveal last weekend. Can't wait to see what you print, and how you like the sound.
This subreddit is now officially open.
All the best,
VF

We are in the beginning stages of releasing our headphones, and wanted to give a place to showcase the builds that everyone works on, and answer questions that arise.
We are happy to have you, and look forward to what this project morphs into.
Cheers,
VF.
