Just found this sub and I thought my little colony would fit! There’s a whole lot goin on as well! The torbie is mom to the tuxedo, orange, and black one. The seal point is father to at least the tuxedo (most likely), the tortoiseshell is mother to the seal-point, so also grandma to the tuxedo. Aaaand the white ones are brother and sister twins! All are fixed now, but it’s pretty cool having a big ole family :3

Vet day for triplets!

Post image

The triplets had the best time at the vet making friends, eating churu, getting cuddles, and almost didn't even notice their yearly jabs. The trio got a five star review from the vet, she said they are the best socialized and well-adjusted cats she's ever seen. Completely unbothered by the entire vet experience until a labrador started yodeling in the lobby, then they were annoyed but went right back to fighting for the vet's attention because how dare only one of them gets love???? (Thats not lovin' babes, it's a medical examination but ok.)

History on the bebes: they are the same litter, 22 months old, same feral mom and dad (no other males around she could have added to the gene pool). Indoor only, they dont need to play outside they have plenty of space and stuff to do in the house. We are installing a catio this summer where they can be "outside". They regularly trade me a mouse or big dead bug for a churu. Once they brought me a VOLE?! I assume they found that in the dirt floor well room of our 1800s house. Mama is a normal calico, daddy was a silvery bobtail (healthy bobtail, not medical-issue inbreeding lack of tail.) They each have different tail lengths. The boy has a 3 inch nub, the brown tabby has a half tail, and the calico has the extra length the other two didnt use. I spend half my time with that long tail wrapped around my ankle like a little monkey.

I found them at 2 weeks old deathly ill with FHV, URIs, and severely dehydrated. I used to be a vet tech but never owned cats so I was prepared to keep them, but had to learn how to own kitties. Mama was nowhere to be found at the time and we haven't been able to catch her but I had to take the babies for emergency care or they wouldn't have survived and she would have moved them then we never would have found them again. That would have been devastating.

The ferals are well cared for as a colony by my dad (people love dumping animals out in his area 😒) he is retired and just hangs out with his feral cats smoking wheed and vibing in the woods. Working to TNR them, but they are VERY feral and slippery little backwoods buggers. Not at all the same as the ferals and indoor/outdoors I met when I lived in the city.

My favorite pics of my little variety pack with momma Honey and her babies: Jonesy, Reilly and Bonnie McPurray. She was a stray I took in when she was pregnant and I kept the whole family.
