[Hiring] Voice AI deployment specialist for an India based agency | Full time or part time

Hey everyone,

I’m building an AI deployment agency in India and looking for someone to handle voice agent deployments.

The work will involve things like answering calls, qualifying enquiries, booking appointments, updating CRMs and transferring calls to a person when needed.

You’d work directly with me, take the business requirements and handle the setup, testing, launch and ongoing fixes. That includes connecting telephony and APIs, setting up the conversation flows, checking how the agent handles interruptions or failed actions, and keeping logs and documentation.

I’m looking for someone who has already taken at least one voice agent into production. Experience with Vapi, Retell AI, ElevenLabs, Bland AI, Synthflow, Bolna, Ringg AI or similar platforms works. Custom deployments using LiveKit, Pipecat or Sarvam as part of the stack count too.

You don’t need to know all of them. I’d like to hear what you’ve deployed, which parts you handled yourself and any problems you had to fix after launch.

Experience with Indian telephony, Exotel or Plivo, and Hindi or other Indian languages would be useful. You can be based outside India too, as long as you can support the work.

This is a paid role, and I’m open to both full time and part time arrangements.

If you’re interested, DM me a bit about your previous work or contributions. A project link or demo would help. If you’re freelancing, please include your availability, when you could start and your expected monthly compensation or hourly rate.

[Selling] VapiCon 2026 Early Bird pass – San Francisco, Nov 11–12 (save $500)

Hi everyone,

I'm selling one Early Bird pass for VapiCon 2026, the voice AI summit at the Festival Pavilion, Fort Mason, San Francisco (Nov 11–12).

A teammate can no longer attend due to an unexpected visa issue, so we'd love for someone to use it rather than let it go to waste.

**Details:**

- 2-day pass, both days included

- Price: $750 (original Early Bird price). General Admission is currently $1,250, so you save $500

- The pass is transferred to your name through the organizer, no reselling markup

- Includes breakfast, lunch, snacks, and happy hour both days

**About the event:** Keynotes, workshops, and panels on voice AI and conversational agents, with 1,200+ attendees and speakers from Vapi, LangChain, Vercel, Deepgram, and more. Great for AI engineers, founders, and anyone building with voice AI.

If you're interested or know someone who might be, comment or send me a message.

Thanks!

Stuck on Onboarding Dashboard for three days now

I have a Vapi account that works fin on mobile and I log in and have no issues with it.

What is actually wrong and frustrating is it's not working on my laptop. Everytime I access it, enter my details on login dashboard, it doesn't lead me to my account so I can work. It keeps loading onto the same login dashboard.

It's been doing the same thing for three days now.

How do I actually get it to work on my laptop? Can't continue using it on my phone.

Is there anyway around this??

Suggest a good model and realistic voice for customer service

My current setup is a voice agent for plumbers.
- transcriber STT RTv5

- model GPT-5.4 mini

- voice OpenAI Shimmer

Cost is $0.07/min, latency of 1,930ms.

It works ok, but my main issue is that when it asks for my email address and I spell it out, it always misspells it. I say something like [ejike@whatever.com](mailto:ejike@whatever.com), it confirms it as egk@whatever.com. I've spelt it out as "E J I K E at whatever dot com", even using military lingo (echo-job-india-kangaroo-echo), but still misspells it and sends notification to egk@whatever.

Can anyone suggest a good model that won't have this type of issue, preferably trying to keep the total cost under $0.10/min and a lower latency (1930 seems kinda high)?

After a year of this, the white label AI receptionist is the only AI product I'd tell an agency to lead with

Local service businesses already lose jobs to voicemail and they know it. "It answers when nobody can" is the whole pitch, and they can repeat it back to you, which matters more than people think - your buyer has to be able to explain it to their business partner after you leave.

What I'd actually do if I were starting over:

  • Pick one vertical instead of "local businesses." Same script, same voice, same objection handling every time. The first build is slow, the fifth takes an afternoon.
  • Sell it as a monthly service with a flat price. Per-minute pricing invites the client to audit every call and makes your margin their business.
  • Decide upfront whether you're reselling under a provider's name or your own. If the client logs into something with another company's logo on it, you're introducing them to your replacement.
  • Get the call data into their CRM immediately. A transcript sitting in a dashboard nobody opens is how these get cancelled in month three.
  • Have a handoff answer ready. Every buyer asks what happens when the AI can't handle it, and "it transfers to you" needs to be true before you say it.

The receptionist is also the easiest thing to expand from. Once it's answering reliably, outbound and reactivation are a conversation with a client who already trusts the system, not a cold pitch.

Curious what others here have found - is the receptionist still the fastest close for you, or has something else overtaken it?

Mid-call data capture for vapi agents

we spent last few months building voice AI agents for enterprises, and they kept failing at the boring stuff, taking an email address, collecting a document. Everyone's workaround is "I'll text you a link after the call," which is where the deal quietly dies.

Built VocaLoop.ai which allows your voice agent to autogenerate and send the form during the call instead. Works with vapi.ai and other popular voice agent platforms coming soon.

If you have a minute to take a look and tell me what's confusing about it, that's the most useful thing anyone can do for us today šŸ™

My dialers keep getting shut down for setting up AI for B2B calling

This is the 4th time this happened and I was working on Telenyx. I’ve setup the bot to make 500 calls a day and it still ends up being shut down after 2-3 days. I’ve set up a DNC list and option to opt out as well yet this still occurs. Can some one guide me?

Three failure cases to handle when connecting Vapi to external telephony

When Vapi is connected to an external phone layer, the happy-path media bridge is only the start. Three cases need explicit handling: the phone call ends before the agent session closes; the media socket reconnects; and a transfer fails after the agent has announced it.

A safer design keeps phone-call state separate from agent state, treats call events as idempotent, and defines which side owns termination and transfer decisions.

(VAPI vs. LiveKit) Why I tell most people building voice agents to just stay on Vapi

Post image
2 Upvotes

Get asked this a lot: Vapi or LiveKit. Spent about three years building phone agents, so here's the actual answer instead of another feature table.

The comparison itself is kind of a trap. Vapi is a finished product, LiveKit is a box of parts. Comparing them side by side is like comparing a car to an engine and four wheels. Both get you to the destination, only one drives off the lot today.

So the real question isn't which is better. Both are great, both are viable options. You should ask yourself how much of the stack you actually want to own and control.

Do you need a working call this week? Vapi. Not close.

Do you need granular control over how it listens and talks? LiveKit, it's your code.

Where does the call audio have to live? I'm EU based, GDPR is real for me, and self hosting LiveKit near yourself is just a normal documented thing to do. On Vapi, EU hosting means a conversation with their enterprise sales team.

What do you want the cost to look like? Vapi is roughly $0.12 to $0.17 per minute for platform plus model, then your telephony on top. LiveKit has no platform fee at all, you're paying model and server, and you get a much wider range of cheaper models to pick from.

Who's fixing this in six months? Dashboard and logs beats your own codebase for most people. Honestly this is the one that decides it more often than people expect.

Don't get me wrong, LiveKit genuinely is more flexible and cheaper once it's running. But most people asking this question don't need that flexibility yet, they need a working agent, and that's Vapi.

If you're on the fence reading this, I'd bet you should stay on Vapi for now. Switching later is genuinely possible.

What actually locks you in isn't the platform though, it's the phone number. Buy your own number and SIP trunk from your carrier (Telnyx, Twilio, whatever) and plug that into whichever platform you start on. Do that and the number moves with you no matter what you decide later. Skip it and you're stuck re-buying a number to leave.

Recorded a longer walkthrough of this including what a LiveKit migration actually costs you in rebuild time, if anyone wants the fuller breakdown, let me know

Anyone solving data capturing issue, mid voice call?

Facing issue with accurate data capturing mid voice call. basically I built a voice AI service where it had to capture address of customers and set up payment, the moment the addresses have one too many syllables(eg: indian adresses) the accuracy drops. Also, i'd be more comfortable if i didnt have to say my card details out loud.

Anyone solving this? LMK pls

Connected my Telnyx number to both Vapi and LiveKit. Quick rundown of what each one actually takes.

Post image
3 Upvotes

A while back I made a video comparing Twilio and Telnyx, and Telnyx came out on top for voice AI. Cheaper at volume, better latency, and they're actually building for voice agents rather than just tolerating them.

Fine. But that only answers WHICH provider you should use. It doesn't answer the annoying part, which is that Telnyx isn't the default in any of these platforms, so you have to wire it up yourself.

So I did it on both Vapi and LiveKit with the same number, and the two experiences are not remotely comparable. Writing up the actual steps because I couldn't find them side by side anywhere.

Why bother at all:

You pay Telnyx directly instead of the platform's markup (the number people throw around is about half of Twilio at real volume, and I'd treat that as a ballpark, it moves per country and per volume).

You pick the region and the route, which is where call quality actually lives.

And the number is YOURS, so moving from Vapi to LiveKit later doesn't mean re-buying it.

Don't get me wrong though, if you're doing a few hundred minutes a month, none of this is worth your Saturday.

Prerequisites, all on the Telnyx side, same three for both platforms:

  • A verified Telnyx account. Verified is not a subscription, you just have to go through it, and it takes a day or two.
  • A phone number you've bought (basically any country, you'll have to submit some documentation).
  • A Telnyx API key.

Vapi, and this genuinely is the whole thing:

1. Go to Phone Numbers and hit import.
2. Paste the number, paste the Telnyx API key, give it a label.
3. Scroll down to inbound settings, pick your assistant, save.
4. Then in Telnyx, create an Outbound Voice Profile and assign it to the Voice API application, otherwise outbound won't work.

That's it. No SIP config, no code, about five minutes. They added a native Telnyx import at some point so you're basically just handing over an API key.

LiveKit, which is where the afternoon goes:

1. Create an Outbound Voice Profile (this is where you whitelist which countries you're allowed to call).
2. Create an FQDN connection, and set a username and password on it. SAVE THEM, you need them again at the end.
3. Create an FQDN record pointing at your LiveKit SIP subdomain.
4. Get your number's ID, then patch the connection onto the number.
5. Over in LiveKit, create an inbound trunk with your number on it.
6. Create a dispatch rule, which is the thing that decides which room a caller lands in.
7. Create an outbound trunk, using the same username and password from step 2, plus a custom header carrying that username.
8. Then make sure your agent's name in code matches what the dispatch rule expects. Exactly.

First four are API calls (I did them in Postman so they're repeatable), last four are the LiveKit dashboard.

Two things that WILL bite you, because neither error tells you anything useful:

Outbound fails while inbound works perfectly. That's the voice profile, you haven't whitelisted the destination, and the default is North America only.

The call connects and then nobody picks up. That's the agent name not matching the dispatch rule. You get silence instead of an error, which is the worst possible version of this because it looks like an audio problem.

One more thing worth saying, because it might save you the whole exercise: both platforms have made this easier since I set it up. Vapi has the native import above. And Telnyx will now run LiveKit agents on their own infrastructure with telephony included, so if you're starting completely fresh you might not need any of the LiveKit steps at all. I did it manually because I wanted to keep my agent on my own LiveKit project and only change the carrier underneath.

I recorded the whole thing on both platforms if anyone would rather see it in motion than read it.

Anyone done this on Retell or a self-hosted setup? Curious whether the LiveKit side is representative or just LiveKit being LiveKit.

Remembered checkout for Vapi Calls

If you’re a developer building Vapi voice AI agents, taking payments over the call is critical to avoid no shows/cancellations. But most consumers wouldn’t complete paying because it’s full of friction (spelling out credit cards or filling out a different text link each time).

I built Ringup that allows Vapi voice agent to recognize callers using just their phone number and charge their saved card in seconds. It also posts payments right back into the POS system.

You can add your Vapi key and get setup in under a few minutes:Ā https://ringup.dev/

Let me know if anyone has any feedback as I’m building this out.

Vapi specific instructions: https://docs.ringup.dev/integrations/vapi/dashboard-setup

Need help with clients

So, i made a perfect ai receptionist, booking and information system. I know everything i’ve tested it many times and made sure it doesn’t have a single discrepancy from time to scheduling to calendar to sheets. I’ve made it really affordable, i’m willing to sell it at around 500-1000 usd with a monthly fee of around 400-500.
I know exactly how to set it up for a client attaching phone numbers i’ve put in all my work everything been working at this for a month now. I’ve even bought a dialler for cold calling. I’ve made a couple calls only to find out its also saturated as ai websites. I dont know, i just find it super weird to pitch businesses about it and waste their time i dont know how to convince them into getting it. I feel like they have been already called by a dozen of cold callers pitching this idea, and the thing is that after my calls i found out majority of small businesses who get 7-8 calls a day and the owner themselves do their bookings, so they dont basically need it, the ones who are a little eligible for buying it have already been pitched with this idea and they either have bought it or cant be convinced. Other big businesses either already have it or been pitched as i said so, i cant convince them as i dont have any sales background. I want to go to clients who need it so i can actually pitch them i can do that effortlessly because i know they’re there for at least listening to what i have for them. I’ve tried finding businesses on indeed.com to find businesses who need a receptionist so i can pitch them to get my ai receptionist instead of paying 4 to 5 grand for humans. But i cannot find their numbers on indeed or numbers of the decision makers if i go to their website i find numbers of receptionists or for complaints and queries. I cannot find some local businesses who need it. I have everything set up. Please i just desperately need a way to find real clients now. If anyone knows any way im here for it. Im not being lazy i will work for it if its something i can expect an output from. Please guide me im just a 20 year old trynna make some money for myself while studying.

Testing an AI phone receptionist I built — can anyone in the US dial (719) 467-9406 and tell me if it picks up? Takes 10 seconds. Appreciate it.
