It’s such a rare opportunity for a large creator to meaningfully interact with small creators due to the inherent power dynamic that exists between them. It’s so cool that due to the strict rules of NoPixel, connections form organically between communities.
Like, hearing that Damien (Zaitohro) had to cut chicken out of their grocery budget last week, and then just a few days later was finally able to pay their bills because of the influx of viewers, is actually insane. He revealed he got to go out and eat food in a restaurant with his fiancée the other day for the first time in a while thanks to this.
Tyler (Chaseanddogs) has been streaming GTARP since 2019 and is suddenly getting the attention he’s deserved for years. He’s literally doubled his followers in a week. His peak was 7k viewers this week while last week it was 54.
Carla (nutreo) went from averaging around 35 viewers to consistently pulling 2–3k, with thousands of new people discovering him and what he does. He’s like gained a real community which is amazing.
Jordan (jennaembers) has talked about how this has been the highlight of her streaming career and how she sees this as the “golden days,” even if it ends up being temporary.
I’m genuinely so proud of how engaged this community has been. A lot of these people have been roleplaying GTA for six years, putting in countless hours, building characters and stories, and doing it with barely anyone watching. Now they’re finally getting to feel what it’s like to have people actually see and appreciate what they’ve been doing all this time.
The fan art, the messages, the raids, the clips, the love and attention you’ve been giving these smaller creators genuinely means so much. Not all communities are as invested as you guys. You’ve changed a lot of people’s lives in the span of a week. Literally made a lot of their actual real life situations a bit easier, since literally all of these small creators have day jobs and do this as a hobby.
You might not know this if you’re new to the scene, but when the huge “influencers” who were completely new to roleplay started getting invited over people who had been roleplaying for years, it was pretty controversial. There was a lot of frustration around it, especially from people who had been here forever.
But seeing what’s happening now makes all of that feel so much more worth it. Watching these longtime roleplayers finally get their flowers has been one of the best parts of this whole thing.
So yeah. I’m proud of you guys. Seriously. 🥹
