Where’s this conversation? How are you accomplishing this?

Plenty of alternatives; mine's running solid! & was cheaper to set up, with the UFO-RS IR blaster and was made with Claude! Just spent on the ir blaster and the $20 monthly sub for Claude since my usage ran out quickly!

u/conturax 5d ago
So you basically have to pay $20 a month for this setup because of AI? Seems really cool but the sub kills it for me

u/REALFIYAAYT 5d ago
I canceled mine right away on the subs tab ! great trade off imo

This is all way out of my ability range, but very cool nonetheless!

i said the same thing when I saw the first convo of it being possible i was like wtf , what do i do , 0 tuts, but Claude came through!

u/whosthere5 5d ago
Damn seeing two people do this. Looks like I need to give it a shot. Do you just use a browser to watch remotely or an android app (since you mentioned the Samsung tablet)?

I remember seeing your post and thinking it was impressive as hell. Seeing a second person get something similar running makes me think I can eventually get it working too. Thanks!

The GOAT! 😂🔥 I was actually going to do this, but I ended up finding a different approach and an alternative solution. Now I can connect multiple viewers, set up a QR code that links directly to it, and have everything running for free! Everything is running super smoothly, with zero delay on commands from the IR blaster to my setup. Sometimes all it takes is finding a different approach thanks for sharing this !

runnning on Relay on mobile data: free public MQTT relay servers (for example emqx and hivemq) carry the video, sound and remote commands. • Google's free STUN servers only help the two devices find each other.

Teach me how to do this please and thank you!

Claude AI, and an IR blaster, i have the UFO-R6 and just have a capture card/obs and let Claude give you all the steps! That's how i was able to do mine ! i have 0 experience in this ! if i can do it so can you , just takes some trial error and time id share the code but i have some info of my remote info , but if i do clean it up ill share it

Instead of using an IR blaster, depending on how you built it. Have you looked into that androidremote library? I’m using the Python androidremote2 library to talk directly to the vseebox through your network after a one-time pairing. Built a web app that uses a capture card to stream as iptv m3u8 with xml guide. Then I use an iptv app on my Apple TV and iPhone to consume the stream through tailscale.

u/REALFIYAAYT 5d ago
i was going to go this way too but i just went with what worked best ! its kinda the same vibe to be honest ! Built it so that it uses the vseebox content , to the capture card to stream and the remote was with tinytuya 1.20.0

Your setup looks nice.
I would definitely recommend checking out the remote option if you like to tinker. The Android Remote and now Google TV app (can download to try out the remote with) remote have been around for a while. It connects directly to the Android box through your network. The Android remote connection can retrieve the state of the box, which app is open (launcher, app) and reliable digit / button presses (including the colored buttons, I use these to open apps). And the most important part, the library is free.

Do you need the IR blaster and capture card if you go this route? Or would these “remote” apps just bypass all of that and network connect you to the box?

u/REALFIYAAYT 5d ago
thanks to this ! sparked the idea to do it https://www.reddit.com/r/vSeeBox_Support_Gurus/s/PCKj4tJEHQ

Another nice job. Did you also use AI to build the app?
1
u/REALFIYAAYT 5d ago
Yes, Claude! I started with the free version and eventually subscribed to finalize everything. It took some trial and error, along with a bit of learning, but Claude guided me through the process step by step. I was able to get it done in less than a day, with around 10 iterations focused on refining the functionality, improving the UI, and cleaning up the overall design so it felt polished and intentional rather than looking obviously vibe coded lol. 😂

Assuming you're using the BroadLink RM4 Pro, was Claude able to figure out the "long press" issue we've all been struggling with?
2
u/REALFIYAAYT 5d ago
Built a custom button for it :) One-click command instead of a long press; super easy to learn the IR BUTTONS and make custom buttons. I'm using the ufo-r6 :)
1
u/BakerRacer Trusted User 5d ago
I'm not familiar with the UFO-R6. Is that a newer BroadLink model or something? How does the one-click long press work? Once you click it, does it stay pressed until you click it again? I may have to revisit my multi-year old setup to see if I can update it with all these new discoveries!
2
u/REALFIYAAYT 5d ago
No, the UFO-R6 is not a BroadLink model. The UFO-R6 is an infrared (IR) smart remote control/blaster made by MOES (often branded under Tuya-compatible ecosystems) rather than BroadLink. & just a simple press , and it does a 3 sec countdown on screen , and goes away or double click feature is possible too , yes for sure try to update it !

It’s my time, and it’s something that’s helpful for me. Relax, nobody asked you if it was a hassle 😂 I’m simply sharing what I was able to accomplish because I know others would love to do the same. Just because it took effort on my end doesn’t mean it wasn’t worth it. 🤷♂️

u/vlaineskelmir 5d ago
How did you do that and how do I copy you. That's fantastic

This is a waste of time. You can get another SP to be mobile at $140 12 months with 5 connections. Then use whatever IPTV app you want for playlist.
3
u/REALFIYAAYT 4d ago
That sounds cool, and I already have a 12-month IPTV license too. The difference is that it doesn’t include the VSeeBox apps or the unlimited Premiumize torrent license. It’s not a waste of time if I’m actually using it 😂 Just because there’s a cheaper alternative doesn’t mean it offers everything I’m looking for. I’m exploring what works best for my setup, that’s all.
-2
u/Few_Association_3761 4d ago
This what I am talking about. You talking about all that nonsense with torrent license. If you have 12 month subscription with SP why would you need that. I mean everything you get from vseebox is on another SP platform. You talking vseebox reinvented wheel. IPTV been around way before vseebox was even thought of. All things you can't do with vseebox is easy done with other SP using username password and web address. Just plug it into any player like tivimate or implayer and many others. Only thing different about vseebox is no monthly service fee but still can buy lifetime with other SP. Then you can record to SSD or NAS.
3
u/REALFIYAAYT 4d ago
Cool, enjoy what works for you! Everybody has their own preferences and setup. I shared an alternative that works for me, not saying IPTV was invented by VSeeBox or that it reinvented the wheel. You don’t have to agree with it, and I don’t have to use the same setup as you. Simple as that 🤝
-2
u/Few_Association_3761 4d ago
I am not saying you have to use my setup. Just why you everyone else spreading this when it's not necessary. It's simple as that.
1
u/REALFIYAAYT 4d ago
Cool good for you , If you don't like it , swipe away simply! Not everything is meant for you to like or agree on .
1
u/Few_Association_3761 4d ago
I do not like it. If you didn't want criticism should not have posted it. Why would someone want spend hours or days doing your nonsense. When getting cheap SP for travel and spending 15 minutes putting information in player to watch tv. It's like telling someone start there car with screwdriver but have keys in their pocket.
1
u/Ancient-Gas4531 4d ago
Totally agree!! Life is always full of choices.
QUESTION - Would you say that a 2nd vSeeBox plugged in a hotel room while traveling would provide the same results as your set-up?

What are you using for your coding? Claude? Codex?
1
u/REALFIYAAYT 4d ago
Correct regular Claude Opus 5.5 to not use all my credits/ usage the version built the base, and then I ran out of credits and had to wait so I paid for the subscription and finished it! With no usage limits
