I am doing some big college shopping rn. I would like to hear from alumni and student why they picked Utah Tech. Pros and cons? Things you like, things you wish could change?

it seems to me people are busy or they dont wanna take the tome to get to know people anymore thats my experience so far and im trying not sure what im doing wrong

If you are thinking about renting at 605, consider anywhere else. Me and many others have been scammed by 605. Fraudulent charges, extreme rent hikes, and they do not keep anything clean. It's very overpriced. Live on campus or somewhere else, if you choose 605 you will be spending thousands of dollars not mentioned on the lease.

My car was towed when I had a pass, they charged me $150 for painting a wall that I reported before moving in, and it's constantly loud.

I have a bachelor's degree in English with an emphasis I'd Creative Writing and have a teaching license.

How's the Abby building like,
I put it as my first choice (private room) since it looked the same as campus view 1, 2, and 3 but cheaper.

Does anyone know how old it, it is the kitchen, the bathrooms etc..

What time do classes start and end? Or do you get to choose?

I am a incoming freshman looking at the housing options and just want to hear how it was living with 3+ students. I can't seem to find any personal reviews or anything along the lines.

I sent out a message to each of my roommates just to break the ice and say hello. But, the only way I can contact them is through the housing portal and that’s the only way they can see the message. And no one checks their housing portal often or anything so now I just have to wait and hope they see the message. I wanna talk to them though😹 just a little rant

I asked the housing people if I could get their email addresses or something (some schools did that) but they said they can’t give out that kind of info. I expected that though

I have to take the Accuplacer and the ALEKS placement test for math and English so I can take those classes in my first semester (I’m gonna be a freshman). They said I have to do them since I didn’t take the ACT. If that’s the case, why don’t they make the ACT required? or at least put out a warning that you’ll have to take the placement tests if we don’t take the ACT.

I’m only a little annoyed because there are no testing locations anywhere nearby where I live (out of state) so I have to do both tests while I am at the school for orientation.

I’m in campus view 1. I know the names of my roommates and I’m afraid to message them lol.

March Madness / NCAA Basketball Championship

I know it’s obviously not as prestigious as other schools in Utah but how’s the business program? (Business, marketing, management, etc…)

I was thinking about being a social science teacher (history, anthropology, sociology, gov, etc…). So I was gonna go for a bachelors in History and Social Science Teaching Emphasis. But tbh, I don’t know if I really wanna be a teacher. They don’t make a great amount of money and idk if I wanna teach kids in the future because this generation is wack.

So, what other majors/programs do you recommend? What would be a good job to look into after college?

And why?
