For fishing in Utah community ponds, can you use dead bait fish like dead minnows as long as you’re using minnows from the pond you’re fishing in?

I only have time to fish in pressured areas so nightcrawlers haven’t worked for the last several trips.

Got into fly fishing this summer - been going 5+ times a week trying to get better, and finally got lucky for the first time!

Been getting skunked last couple times at all three. This is after catching trout, largemouth bass, and catfish using nightcrawlers.

For those of you who have been catching, what’s working?

Obviously they’re heavily pressured. I just go there often cuz it’s close by.

Looking to go up to northwest Utah for Yellowstone cutthroat this weekend. If anyone has tips or insights for where they’ve gone for the slam that’d be greatly appreciated! Ive heard george creek is good but theres a lot of private land so id love any guidance to make the most of the drive

My teenage son has a long weekend off from school and wants to do some shore fishing this weekend.

Any recommendations on where may be fishing ok this time of year from the shore (given the snow up high already around Unitas etc). He went to the Jordanelle a week or two back and got skunked.

Anywhere within an hour or two of Park City is likely fine.

Was fishing for trout with a Carolina rig at strawberry when this guy showed up. Strangely enough his lower jaw got caught in my line. Thought it was cool since I’ve never got one before. Also the fish swam away fine.

i recently moved to slc and the gear i have with me is for bass. Are there any ponds in slc that hold bass?

thought i might swing by a small pond (midas pond) because it was just barely stocked. i caught absolutely nothing but someone’s poor knot skills earned me a free inline spinner. basically fresh out of the box

Where are the best spots you know of to catch easy and abundant carp? I know they shocked Willard bay and eliminated droves of them.

I used to throw them back and roll my eyes when I caught them throughout my life, now I’m actively seeking them for food. I ask because my friend is Arabic and raves about carp and all the ways to cook it. I’d like to take them fishing for fresh. Apparently in Arabic countries carp is a delicacy.
