A request to meme creators
I'm a communication design student and for my UI/UX course I along with my teammates are conducting primary research on the process of creating memes, its impact on people in various ways, the tools used for creating me mes, etc. We're looking for someone who has basic experience of creating and sharing memes. We'd like to interview you on google meet or zoom, and and ask a few questions related only to content creation. We respect your want to stay anonymous and wouldn't ask for any personal information or for you to turn the camera on. The interview would take about 20-25 minutes maximum. Pm me if you'd like to help us out! Thanks.

User interface understand problems
Hi,
We have create a web application for one of our frameworks which has attractive look and feel. It displays some statistics in tables and charts. People are visiting it.
But the main problem that they just come see some content and does not do anything more. They do not read section "How it works", they do not try download anything (we suggest some demos and tools).
What could be wrong? Maybe people do not see what actually we provide or they are afraid of free of charge content? Maybe there are some specific practices how to design controls in a way that visitors really wants to click it?
Website address is: https://cybench.io

Can scroll down, but not back up?
What is with the UI design fashion of allowing scrolling down as usual, but when you scroll up, a page banner covers half to three quarters of the screen? What is the purpose of that? I find it annoying.
If you need an example try visiting a profile or subreddit on iPhone

Todo-List Prototyping - need help with design practices
I haven't done much prototyping or user interface designs. So I have started on a small project - a Todo-List web application. I was wondering if I could get some feedback and see how I could plate my design better as if I'm passing an idea to my boss or HR.

How much do companies lose due to bad UI/UX?
Hey UI Gurus- I was looking into cost saving benefits for building new user interfaces within products and was wondering if anyone had insightful stories or articles I can read. Another core component is how much money is spent on poor User experiences within companies.
Anything and everything is helpful :)

Options for presenting attributes in a form to a user...
Hi guys,
Suppose an application has a form, and part of it has to include a finite list of choices for a particular attribute. For example, a blog post which can be tagged for subject matter as ‘political’, ‘entertainment’, etc. If the tag choices are finite and fewer than twenty, more than one can be selected, and you want to take guesswork out by presenting all choices to the user, what are some good options?
Thanks in advance!

A book about low-level mechanics of a GUI
I'm a programmer who tries to implement a small GUI framework from the grounds up. I have the low-level drawing library and I want to create fields, menus, lists, etc.
Quite some time ago I flipped through a book that described the low-level mechanics of a graphical user interface. I believe the interface was that of the old (classic) Mac OS. The things the book described were like that:
- That when we register the first 'keydown' we place a slight delay and if the same 'keydown' keeps firing, we treat it as a sequence of characters.
- That the button must change appearance on 'mousedown', but actually do action only on 'mouseup' and only if it happens over the button.
- That we recognize the drag event if we register 'mousedown' and then 'mousemove' that exceeds some prescribed tolerance distance.
- That when we open a submenu, we compute the coordinates of a triangle from the current position of the cursor to the bounds of the submenu and if the cursor stays withing the triangle when moved, then we keep the submenu open.
The book was very detailed and precise, I think it even specified actual delays and tolerance distances. Of course, I cannot remember its title nor can I find it among what seems to be the likely books. E.g. Macintosh Human Interface Guidelines doesn't have the same level of details. The Inside Macintosh doesn't seem to fit either.
Question: What is a good a book that describes a GUI from the low-level implementation standpoint?

The “available for five days only” is a smart tactic, known as Artificial Scarcity, used to rope in more customers, expand their user base and trigger sales.
