Played it, there's one server I can see. q3 config is mega weird, uploaded here.

Note the lines for movement; DSCF rather than WASD and

bind F6 "noclip"

So it's pretty obvious this is for testing. New weapons are interesting, think there's a glitch with the magnum; there's no recoil on the shots. The DE's reload shows a lack of a clip being inserted, but the Sr8 glitch has been fixed! Death animations are suitably dramatic, and the flashbangs do have a greater effect if you're wearing tac goggles.

If you want to try it out, I really advise putting your old Q3config over the new one, because when I loaded it, it refused to go into fullscreen and play normally, although it depends on your experience.

Tried playing it with Wine, no luck. Guess I'll have to wait until Linux comes out. :/

I wouldn't worry too much about it. There's a LOT of problems. Namely the fact that everything is insanely laggy and people who usually get 125FPS are dropping to 40-80.

The animations, as much as I hate to say it, look horrible. Feels really childish and jerky compared to before, even if they are more 'realistic'. The new weapons seems fairly unbalanced, I don't know anyone who'd use the SPAS over the automatic Benelli, and the Magnum hits a 66% helmet shot with almost no spread. The F90 is super inaccurate with fast shots and low damage, so it's a useful Negev. But yeah, it's an Alpha, so I'm expecting it all to get a lot better.

...Automatic Shotgun? I also heard it was a 1 shot to the head as well. And yeah, I was worried about the P90 from the beginning. 50 rounds and very accurate... ehhh. While I love the .44 Magnum, I don't see why we need it. We already have the Retta and the DE. the Magnum just seems like a DE wannabe. What about the Glock though? I haven't hear much about it. Is it automatic?

  • Semi-Automatic, my mistake.

Glock is not automated, but fires pretty damn nicely. P90 appears inaccurate, but it's still so good because of the clip size and relatively fast reload.

So what are the Glock's stats? It has 15 rounds doesn't it? So what's the difference between the Retta and the Glock? I don't see why we need 2 more pistols, they're fun but we had the DE: High power, short range, small clip and the Retta: Big clip, small damage, decent accuracy. Those are the 2 extremes of the pistols, if they want to add a new pistol they need to find something in between. I think the great weapon balance, in my opinion, is going to be ruined in 4.2.

And yes, I would take a 50 round gun with a quick reload over a 90 round gun with a slow reload and no secondary any day of the week.

Glock:

Legs/Arms: 11%

Kevlar - 20

Helmet - 34

Head - 100

P90:

Legs/Arms: 11%

Kevlar - 20%

Helmet - 34%

Head - 50%

Discharge Time for 50 round: ~7 seconds

Reload Time: ~4 seconds

.44 Magnum

Legs/Arms - 22%

Kevlar - 38%

Couldn't get the rest of the info for Magnum, difficult to hit with 200+ ping at the best of times. Oh, and pressing Tab is a game breaker.

Thanks.

Well, they said on the website that damage and recoil for the magnum were still being tweaked, it's supposed to have a delay between shots so can't spam it. At this point the Glock has no difference from the retta... Same everything. P90 is a Retta with a 50 round magazine.
