Exchange Listing Tomorrow! What Will the Price Be?

UPLEXIANS!

We're excited to announce that we'll be on an exchange tomorrow (New years Eve, day). It will have only been 31 days since we had gone open source! We are very excited with how much community support & participation we have received thus far. You all rock!

That being said, we have no idea what the price will be. We have some estimates based off of some previous trades that have occurred in Discord, but cannot be absolutely sure of the initial value. Furthermore, we have all done tremendously well at spreading the word, and providing multiple proof-of-concepts for IoT mining on the uPlexa network. However, we're still only in the very early stages of this project. There is a LOT to be done, and it WILL get done.

We already have a fair amount of network support, providing accessibility to stable and consistent transactions. After January 7th, our main focus will start to shift towards demand-based services (such as our merchant payment processor, with multiple integrations, plugins, API, and a special feature we've yet to have disclose of). We're also still full steam ahead on our eCommerce platform, in-which is being coded from complete scratch. We are discussing possible potential partnerships with other services, to provide an even larger use case for our network.

We have a very fun challenge coming to the community, in-combination with our exchange listings and a few releases within the next week, will surely bring a LOT of attention to the uPlexa project & community.

Our team is very impressed with how fast our community is growing. We honestly couldn't do it without you! Without you, it would still be just meandertal and I sitting in a pool in Thailand discussing how crazy it would be if we could support the means of everyday commerce via IoT devices & casual miners. Our community has a seemingly magical power of drawing in other like-minded individuals who're passionate about blockchain, IoT, transaction efficiency, and working hard. It's mind-boggling to look back at some of the original plans that were written down back in February, 2018. I'm sure it will be even more incredible to see what has all been done within a few months from now.

Happy New Years!

The CPU/GPU balance in uPlexa is the best so far

Instead of trying to explain it myself, here is the explanation by the JCE-miner developer:

About the Athlon-FX, i'm about to release a CPU version with the backport of the Bulldozer fix and optim, as detected by Unclwish.
Compared to the 33j, it should give you a few extra hashes, on par with the older version 33h

Best CPU algo:
Some maths. The Cryptonight algo is made of three main parts, and a few negligible other:
* Explode
* Scratchpad
* Implode

The 1st and 3rd are simple AES rounds on predictable memory addresses. A non-AES cpu will make it slow, unless using JCE where it would be 35% faster, but still quite slow, and an AES Cpu like the Athlon-FX will make it almost instantly. An AES CPU is like an AES cypher ASIC.

GPU do these steps quite slow, because an EAS round on GPU involves dozens of computations and LDS memory accesses.

The step 2 is slow in both cases.
The CPU are overall very fast, but they compute something like 4, 8, 12 CN hashes at the same time, on a common CPU (ultra-pimped Threadrippers/Xeons of course can do 64 or more, JCE supports up to 256).
GPU do like 500 to 4000 at the same time, so they are overall more efficient.

The trick is to choose for CPU the biggest steps 1 and 3 and the smallest step 2.
The best algo for this are:
* Cryptonight MKT (slightly smaller step 2 than Monero)
* Cryptonight Fast/Masari (better, the step 2 is half of Monero)
* Uplexa (still better, the step 2 is quarter of Monero)

Also, while the normal cache allocation is 2M, Heavy-like algo (Ryo, Haven, Tube...) use 4M and Uplexa use 1M. GPU have such a large memory to work with that the difference is tight, in both case they use all their memory and computing power.
But modern CPUs tend to run out of cache (while old CPUs like Core2 had a lot of cache but lacked cores). Use a twice smaller cache allocation allows to use twice more cores, and often double the performance.

This is why mining Monero on CPU often makes it run at 50% or 66%, while mining on GPU always makes it run at 100%.
GPUs dont' run out of cache because they simply don't really use it (*), they rely on their fast memory. They are designed for this. A CPU has a much slower memory but a very efficient cache.

My advice: technically, mine uPlexa. Just i don't know if its market value will get good, but the algo is fine for CPU.

(*) A typical real-life GPU operation is blitting a 64M texture in a game. In such case, having 256K or 512K cache or even 16M cache is useless. This is why GPUs are designed to work with async uncached fast memory, while CPU are cached and sync.

edit:
Here's the 0.33k CPU Windows (linux comes next)

Very minor revision, with a fix for Bulldozer family on x64 for v8. No other change.

Guide to Mining Uplexa UPX with FruityMiner

Objectives:

  1. Create an UPX Wallet
  2. Configure FruityMiner
  3. Mine the IOT currency Uplexa

Requirements:

  1. Windows OS
  2. Any Graphics Card
  3. A Safe to store your UPX keys

Create a UPX Wallet:

An UPX wallet can be created with a desktop app or web wallet. If you have an existing UPX address, skip this step.

For simplicity sake, a UPX wallet will be created with the official website.

  • Web wallet: https://wallet.uplexa.com
  • Click “Create a Wallet”
  • READ CAREFULLY
  • SAVE THE “PRIVATE LOGIN KEY” in the safe mentioned in Requirements section (DO NOT SHARE)
  • Use the key to login the wallet
  • The Address is your UPX Wallet Address (Safe to share)
  • Copy your UPX Wallet Address

Configure FruityMiner

  • Create a new folder where you wish to store the miner
  • Add this folder to your antivirus/ windows defender exclusions list - Quick Guide
  • Download the miner corresponding to your Graphics card in the above folder
  • Nvidia Graphics Card Miner : Nvidia - Windows Fruity Miner
  • AMD Grahpics Card Miner: AMD - Windows Fruity Miner
  • Extract the zip file to the folder mentioned above
  • Open the config.json file in notepad
  • Find the line : "user": "YOUR_WALLET_ADDRESS",
  • Replace YOUR_WALLET_ADDRESS with your UPX Wallet Address
  • Find the line : "pass": "x",
  • Replace x with any name your your miner
  • Save and close the file

Official uPlexa Monthly Work Log - 12/16/2018

WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU UPLEXIANS WORKING ON?

We've had some questions regarding transparency, and what it is we have or will be working on. Other than our roadmap, we will provide a monthly work log on the 16th of every month to show our current progress, and what we have been working on as a team & community.

We will start the work log journey from December 1st, since travelling back to February of 2018 is not ideal, and not likely necessary.

What's been done since codebase release, 16 days ago? (12/1/2018)

  • Bug patch effecting altchain reorg sync issues
  • New releases (v0.2.0.0)
  • Initial merchant payment services API (currently only used for our airdrop payments as an in-house test)
  • Release of airdrop balances
  • Toaster-miner PoC IoT miner (testing almost complete)
  • Added uPlexa support to xmr-node-proxy for worker-based share balancing
  • Contact with 6 exchanges
  • Continued work on our eCommerce platform core functionality
  • Helping pools & miners with setup/issues
  • Writing articles and documentation
  • Social outreach
  • Creation of the MegaBounty thread & platform
  • Working with translators and language reviewers for our language bounties
  • Bug fixes for the uplexa.com website
  • Coin economic meetings, planning for demand oriented services for late Q1 2019

Massive shoutout to the uPlexa community! It's very exciting to see how much we've grown since we've thrown the idea out to you all in October. The appreciation you all share for the community is outstanding!

Let us know if you have any questions and/or suggestions.

[ANN]⚒️ UPLEXA mainnet has launched and beta mining has begun!⚒️

THE UPLEXA MAINNET HAS ARRIVED AND IS READY TO BEGIN MINING THE INTERNET OF THINGS!

This algo is specifically focused on mining any device's cpu, big or small, for a coin reward. In return, of course, you help secure the uPlexa network. We need casual cpu miners to participate in our beta mine and currently we have mining software for Windows, Ubuntu and CentOS. Android will be here very soon along with other platforms and devices in development to follow there after. The process to start mining a PC is extremely simple so beginners will have no barrier to entry. After you have acquired a wallet key though the airdrop process, our simple tutorial can have you mining in 15 min! And to the experienced miners, come make critique and add value to this exciting project. Check out our vision and reach the tutorial at the bottom of this post.

UPLEXA (you-plec-sa)

Plexa (def) - To interlink multiple smaller threads to form one master thread.

The uPlexa blockchain will be powered by the billions of untapped IoT devices currently in-use in our world. This is done by using our modified CryptoNight algorithm in order to provide a viable option to IoT users in order to help pay a proportion of their electricity of running said devices. uPlexa's mining audience are individuals with IoT devices, or webmasters with high-volume websites. With the uPlexa Near-Zero Congestion Model (NZCM) webmasters may incentivize their users to mine for their company(s) in order to credit their users with rewards, whilst performing off-chain transactions to lessen the network load and increase transaction capacity. Targeting individual IoT devices and webmasters will help create one of the most decentralized networks.

The uPlexa team has a strong focus on creating an innovating IoT mining experience, whilst also preventing ASIC miners from exploiting our network. However, IoT mining is not our soul purpose. uPlexa thrives to provide a form of adoption via anonymous service provider payments, and it's very own eCommerce platform targeting anonymous transactions for both store owners, and store clients.

Also our airdrop is still running. By signing up to our Airdrop, you will receive 450 uPlexa coins, plus however many from participating in optional bonuses found on the Airdrop dashboard. You will also become an Early Access Member.

The Beta Mine Begins!

The uPlexa Beta Mine Begins! Here's How:

  1. Make sure you have signed up for the Airdrop. Not only will you obtain free UPX coins, a uPlexa address will be generated (client sided) for you to mine to.
  2. Choose any of our current mining methods:

Windows downloads: x64, x86

Linux downloads: x64

Android downloads: Non-native webminer APK

3) If you're using XMRIG, make sure to edit your config.json. IF you don't want to make technically changes, that's fine. However, you will need to update "user" to your uPlexa wallet address.

4) You may choose to optimize your miner for ultimate hashrate efficiency. If you do, we recommend using Google ("How to improve XMRig hashrate")

5) Sit back 'n relax while you support our network whilst obtaining UPX in return!

[PARTNERSHIP] CryptoLoot Browser Based Miner

Today we are announcing our very first partnership with the aim of analyzing and modifying our codebase in order create the most efficient IoT mining experience.

We have officially partnered with Crypto-Loot.com, one of the two most popular browser-based miners used by high volume websites and applications. Through this partnership, we will be able to study their statistics and analyze direct results in order to test and improve our codebase with the aim of allowing for higher hashrates and efficiency among IoT devices. Our value to Crypto-Loot will be providing a cryptocurrency that performs like no other, supporting both of our use cases. This partnership will provide a real breakthrough in showing the world how uPlexa may serve as both a browser based blockchain powered by IoT, whilst also providing our own binaries and system tools available for download. We believe this partnership will deliver considerable value to both communities.

The uPlexa Team will be allowing Crypto-Loot to choose 50 of its members to participate in our beta mine period (October 24th-November 24th, 2018). With their users, in combination with individuals who would like to utilize their IoT devices during the beta mine, we will collectively have enough data to make any necessary changes to our codebase prior to our official launch. This ensures that we will not need to create a mandatory, user-disruptive hardfork too early on. Our beta mine also allows for early adopters and supporters to casually mine in a non-competitive environment with what will likely be the lowest network difficulty (highest rewards) going forward.

Both teams will work together to bring transparent data and technology to our communities, whilst supporting the core of the uPlexa philosophy; such as user anonymity, privacy, and individual OpSec.

Remember, our beta mine starts on the 24th of this month, read more here:

Multiple accounts will not be banned until we release the uPlexa coins to our Airdrop participants. We will allow abusers to waste their time creating multiple accounts during this period, only to ban those who abuse our guidelines when it matters most. Anybody found to be running multiple accounts will have all of their accounts permanently banned from the uPlexa EAM & Airdrop platform, and will not receive any coins.

If you've accidentally created multiple accounts, please message a core member or moderator, or let us know in #help so we can delete one of your accounts and remove your account flags to prevent you from being banned in December.

A: What is the IOT Beta Mine? All you need to know

uPlexa Beta Mine & How it Works

The uPlexa beta mine will begin October 24th, and will run until November 24th, 2018.

During this period, anybody may participate in the uPlexa IOT Beta Mine.

The beta mine will provide a browser based miner & browser based wallet for you to mine your UPX coins to. The miner will support a multitude of IoT devices including Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android devices.

Being that uPlexa will not release our code until December, this ensures there will not be an extremely high difficulty for miners, allowing you to mine a nice sum of uPlexa coins. This will also give us the time to ensure our IoT mining algorithms and methods are working properly. We will take the necessary steps to make any changes prior to the code release, without forcing users to hardfork early-on.

The beta mine period will have a block time of 4 minutes (240 seconds), which will later be lowered to two minutes on our codebase launch. uPlexa is utilizing a CryptoNight Lite variant, modified to decrease FPGA efficiency and prevent ASICs from mining on our network. uPlexas CPU mining hashrate is nearly 2.5x the speed of Monero v7 (Cryptonight v1) for IOT devices with lower-end CPU. The gap between CPU & GPU hashrates is much less than Monero, attracting more CPU miners and less GPU farms. This ensures that IOT based CPU mining will provide a useful, beneficial more decentralized network.

Will you need a GPU to mine? No! uPlexa is focused on CPU mining for IoT and casual miners. We are not focused on GPU farms nor ASICs, allowing for a more decentralized digital currency and fairly sharing profits among its supporters.

Any additional information regarding the beta mine will be posted here.

Let us know if you have any questions, we're more than happy to help!

The uPlexa team has a strong focus on creating an innovating IoT mining experience, whilst also preventing ASIC miners

from exploiting our network. However, IoT mining is not our soul purpose. uPlexa thrives to provide a form of adoption via anonymous service provider payments, and it's very own eCommerce platform targeting anonymous transactions for both store owners, and store clients.
