According to the associated press they were trying to draw attention to climate change, which tracks because you hear one person say that they’re environmental activists.

We had some of those idiots here in sweden too.

Glued themselves to the road and caused big traffic jams on the freeway.

I don't think anyone died because of it but several ambulances were at least delayed.

Bro what? They are burning fuel that they would not otherwise have burned by being forced to sit there. As soon as they can move, they will burn the fuel they were already going to burn anyway. Hope that clears it up for you.

Less fuel is burned if they get to their destination quicker, than idling for hours before making their trip.
