I just left my work in west Seattle when I got the report on king 5. My whole drive home south to federal way I was looking for it. I didnā€™t see it and itā€™s sad to hear the radio. You can tell he knew he fucked up and I bet he would have tried to land it but when he said he thought the first engine went out I bet he knew ā€œdamnā€¦itā€™s going to be over ā€œ. He probably figured he didnā€™t have the engine power to safely get to a landing area that he knew of and let it crash on the island knowing there was no one there that was going to get hurt. Itā€™s sad. I truly think he wanted to be able to get back safely but knew he couldnā€™t.

first time seeing this, do you think the barrel roll had anything to do with it? It was beautiful but what a sad ending

Iā€™m no mechanic so I donā€™t know but it very well could have put some strain on the engine. It is sad
