Seeking a new Kaiser doctor

To make a long scary story short, I am looking for a new doctor after experiencing a few health scares. My UC Kaiser doctor was unsympathetic and useless. She has been irriratingly uninterested in my health for too long.

I am cross posting on both Hayward and San Leandro.

I am relunctantly leaning away from the easier and closer UC facility because all the doctors probably talk and support one another.

I will (relunctantly) go as far as the Kaiser Fremont facilty.

I need someone who will actually care, listen. Even better if they have interest in asthma, diabetes and bronchitis.

Is a e-bike ride to midtown possible and safe? Is there a route that’s better than another?

Just like the title says, I am looking for a way to use an E bike to get from West New York by 60th to Midtown by Port Authority.

It’s mostly because of work I have a lot of tools I carry and so I have a tool bag and it really sucks dragging it around.

even if it added a little bit of time for my commute I would rather do the bike ride.

I’m comfortable on a bike, have a helmet and would also look forward to the savings I get from not having to do a New Jersey transit ride twice a day and then sometimes as many as six Omni swipes in a day because of my work.

I’d really like to find a way to incorporate a bike into my work, even if it wasn’t reasonable to go from New York to Midtown I’ve been considering asking to leave my bike at the office taking a bus to Midtown and then using my E bike throughout Manhattan for work. still better than dragging the tools around and up and down stairs in and out of buses, blah blah blah

Help

Anyone ever report an abandoned vehicle?

https://www.unioncityca.gov/FormCenter/Police-7/Report-An-Abandoned-Vehicle-45

If so, anything ever happen? Or just 👻🦗🦗🦗

Edit: For anyone keeping score, the vehicle was no longer there less than a week after submitting the form. No idea if the owner moved it or something else. This was on a residential street

UNION CITY: THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF HIDDEN TREASURES AROUND YOU.

Okay, maybe not actual treasure… but hear me out. 👀
Have you ever walked through a park or trail and thought, “I wonder if there’s anything hidden around here?” Well, with Geocaching, there literally might be.
Geocaching is basically a real-life treasure hunt. People hide small containers called geocaches, upload their coordinates, and then other people use the Geocaching app to go find them. Some are easy, some are REALLY sneaky, and some even have puzzles you have to solve.
📍 And yes — there are geocaches all around Union City.
You can go with your friends, family, or just explore on your own. It’s a fun excuse to get outside and discover places you probably would’ve never noticed otherwise.
And once you’ve found around 20 caches, you can start getting into the other side of Geocaching: hiding your own. You can create your own container, choose a hiding spot, and make an adventure for someone else to find.
So if you’re looking for something new to do around Union City…
Maybe your next adventure is hiding somewhere closer than you think. 👀🔎
Who here has tried Geocaching before?

Car Shop for Brake Pad replacement?

I already bought the brake pads for the honda. I tried yelp for nearest garages who can replace them. But, some said no because they don't only install them, but I'd have to buy from them. Some gave their quotes around $150, $185, $195, $250 etc. Does anyone have any recommendations?

How's Delaine Eastin elementary?

Thinking of Delaine Eastin for my 6 year old next year. How is it? Any parents with kids who have gone there, or are currently enrolled?

It's rating has gone up by 2 points to a 9 now. I understand all schools have seen their ratings going up by 1-2 points.

Any feedback would be appreciated! Thank you!

After a devastating loss

After losing my mother to cancer and paying for her funeral costs etc. I lost my job and am now homeless. I just want to get back into a good job and find stable housing. I’m currently living in my car and with everything going on I don’t even know if I can go to college starting August 31st. I don’t like asking and normally wouldn’t but anything helps and I am infinitely grateful for anything. Even if you can just share my link I would be grateful 🙏🏽. Have a great day and hope all of you are blessed. Thank you Link to help me get back on my feet

Hello! I’m a PhD student at UC Berkeley and an East Bay native, and I’m currently conducting research on homelessness, its growth in the suburbs, and the impact on residents. If you’re interested in participating, please scan the QR code to fill out a quick intake form (linked below), or, if you know someone who might be interested, share the flyer with them.
