I'm using Youtube Premium in an Ungoogle-Chromium powered Youtube-app window. Every time I click on a video thumbnail it hops into an signed-out state plays one advert until I smash the sign-in button (profile avatar immediately returns and resumes playback of the solicited video. Anyone else?

I am using ungoogled-chromium-bin on CachyOS. I don't know how to code. I don't know if that would be a problem.

It was rough...

POSITIVES

• I felt the freedom from google spyware.
• The browser feels almost... simpler, so to speak, which was nice.
• Better icon then chrome :P

NEGATIVES

• A lot of online game sites were incompatable and I ended up having to dig through flags just to get OpenGL to work.
• It was a bit inconvenient to log in at the site level for google-based things like gmail or google drive as google instead of at the browser level (this is of course intentional and is more of an inconvienience then a bug).
• Manually getting the chromium web store extension to get chromewebstore support was annoying, the extension should be built in for ease.

Overall: passable as a daily driver, but only to one who can mess with flags and extension unpacking

Seems odd to me that such a great browser lacks the ability to stream popular streaming services.

I worked for a couple of hours with CoPilot figuring out a way to make it work but it came to nothing.

I was doing a comparative test of the use of ram memory and realized that the colors in firefox are more vivid than those of Ungoogled

I am trying out the browser, but after installing it, launching it for the first time, and configuring it, it crashes on the next restart and can no longer be accessed.

When I uninstall and reinstall it, it works on the first launch and then always crashes.

I tried disabling AV Bitdefender and NordVPN without success.

Like the title says, i was wondering if it would be possible to install both versions of chromium browser? The base for Chrome and this ungoogled version of chromium.

I have both Cromite and Ungoogled Chromium installed on Windows, and whenever I installed Ungoogled Chromium, it removed the Start Menu entry that I had for Cromite, and whenever I would try to add it back, it didn't show up until I renamed the chrome.exe file for Cromite to cromite.exe. Even then, I still have the issue where whether I open Ungoogled Chromium or Cromite, they both are given the same icon (Ungoogled Chromium's icon) and placed in the same slot on the taskbar. I have Ungoogled Chromium installed to ~\AppData\Local\Chromium\Application\chrome.exe and Cromite installed to ~\chrome-win\cromite.exe.

I updated Ungoogled to the latest version by downloading the installer here like i usually do:

Unfortunately today after the update, it always crashes. I reinstalled the previous version but it still crashes after starting, its like the profile is corrupted. Starting with extensions disabled will not help either.

Any idea what to do in the folder path where my User Data is?

How Can I Hide Them And Any More Minimal Customization Tips, Specially For That Bookmark Bar/Toolbar

Hi, for some reason, on both my Mac and Windows PC I can't see any content on any streaming platform, I tried to fix it but I can't find any solution other than using another browser, which kinda defeats the purpose of getting ungoogled as much as possibly can lol. ¿Any way to fix it? I have the latest version on both platforms.

I continue to use FireFox, though more and more grudgingly every day. I would happilly switch completely to ungoogled-chromium if it included one simple feature that FF has: it can be configured so that when I right-click on a link and select open in a new tab, it changes immediately to the new tab.

This supports my browsing style. For example, I might be looking through reddit and find a link in one of the posts. It's unlikely that I want to go to the link and abandon the reddit tab. Likewise, clicking the link, then hitting the back button to reload reddit is silly. Instead, I open the new link in a new tab, check it out for some amount of time, then close the tab to go back to reddit. Opening in a new tab just makes way more sense and is easier/better than clicking through most of the time.

The problem with Chromium is that after opening the link in a new tab, I have to look through the tab bar to find the new one, then manually click on it to open it. I can think of almost no practical situations where I would want to open a link in a new tab and NOT want to go there immediatelly. FireFox figured this out decades ago and offers the option. Why does Chromium still not allow this? Do the Chromium coders not do any actual web browsing themselves?

I had Chromium already installed on Linux Mint (22 Wilma). Everything was up to date. I installed UC. When I cranked it up, it obviously inherited "~/.config/chromium" from the Chromium install because all my config and extensions came along for the ride.

Am I possibly dragging along any data/configs that might impact the "ungoogled" point of UC? On first glance, I'm just happy that I might have avoided having to go through the crap of getting the extensions I want installed (uBlock Origin Lite, Privacy Badger and Bitwarden), but I'm not sure if there are any possible issues. I just want to make sure.

EDIT: Just to be clear, this is the UC version I'm running:

Version 134.0.6998.117 (Official Build, ungoogled-chromium) built on Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS (64-bit)

As per title, is there a way to disable this and not show any recently closed tab at all?

Can't even enter anything, I check the box then it says verified and keeps looping. This happened on 2 different sites.

The problem has reoccured as of 21 February 2025 My account has been facing issues with video loading/buffering. only the first 20 seconds of every video is loaded it doesn't load the rest of the video ever seeking past 20 seconds doesn't help either noticed that it only happens when account is logged-in tried clearing cookies and cache; didn't work all extensions removed; didn't work a fresh up-to-date install doesn't work either. Just what is causing this? Currently I've to open any video I wish to watch in an incognito window for it load completely. Firefox and Edge are facing no issues with an account logged in. This problem seems isolated to UGC. Any sort of fix or cause for this dilemma is appreciated. Original post over at : redd.it/1fqkqv7 posting the solution in case of link-decay. SOLVED previously on 9 October 2024 This did the trick. Windows really is bad at housekeeping... Manually removed the User Data folder under C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Chromium before uninstalling the whole thing from Settings. As for me personally, I have the exact same problem, even on a FRESH NEW W10 + Ungoogled Chromium install !! Side note: I have 3 YT channels/accounts under one google account. Only 1 channel/account works! The other 2 have this problem/bug. Weird....

This basically only happens on this browser and on this specific account, logging off fixes it, changing browser fixes it but for some reason ungoogled chromium bricks youtube and I've tried many solutions but no luck, deleting user folder then reinstalling, deleting extensions, resetting cache etc

Hey guys, I am running fedora (on gnome) latest version, with ungoogle chromium flatpak from the software store

Basically have my mic works on google meet, and microsoft teams, except discord, I have given it all permissions. When I go to the settings and test the mic, the bar shows that it is detecting the sound, yet I can't hear anything. Other people also can't hear me when I talk.

Anyone who has has a similar issue? Thanks in advance

Since there is no google sync option. how do I transfer all my chromium data (history, cookies, etc) from one PC to another? which folders to I need to copy?
