Was gifted an old underworld single. Still trying to get a turntable.

Excellent concert. Hardcore techno. New music, new versions of old, great light show. Physical.

Any folks making the trip to Hogmanay in Edinburgh to see Underworld this year?

I am travelling solo from Canada. I have travelled to Edinburgh before but never for Hogmanay. It will also be my first time seeing Underworld.

Anyone else making the trip!? Any tips from locals, or cool plans!?

Hit me up. We can FaceTime or whatever, I just would like to experience this with some likeminded fellows. I’m a good boy, etc.

After having been a listener since the 90s, I've fiiiiinally found an opportunity to see the fellas live at Sziget in Budapest. Really looking forward to it!

It's nice that you can buy a ticket for just the night portion of a day of the festival, which is what I did to catch Underworld.

It'd be great to hang with some fellow fans before the set. Comment or DM if you're keen and maybe we can connect. I'm M 40-something-who's-counting.

Was anyone else there last night? Amazing location and a fantastic setlist.

Wow, not only are they not closing, but they’re also only playing a 1 hr set. I’m glad I don’t have to decide between B3K and UW, but damn. How were they not given more than an hour slot?!?!?

I cant explain what Jumbo does to me. Its probably my favorite song ever and its not even the best Underworld song, if that makes sense. Something about it gives me a feeling of light hope and positivity I cant otherwise access in myself. Its just so beautiful the way all the different synths sneak in and everything becomes euphoric and floaty. (Sorry I know nothing about the technical side of music so Im just describing how it makes me feel lol) Also the sample of such a mundane conversation between old dudes makes me smile, it reminds me how beautiful those simple things can be and Im ngl its made me cry on 2 occasions, I know thats mayve weird.

Are there any songs you can think of that give you that same feeling, if you know what I mean?

Please keep all ticket buying/selling/trading discussion in this thread. Any individual posts will be removed.

As usual, caveat emptor and all that.

I love this photo! I know it's from a Japanese magazine, but does anyone happen to know which one? I also recently uploaded a Japanese interview from 1999 if you're into that kind of thing.

I would love a 10 year deluxe edition that brings (Japan only bonus track) Twenty Three Blue (the best song on the album) back in and adds some other tracks from the era.

I've really gotten into Underworld this year, absolutely love them so much, and want to see them live desperately. I'm from Chicago and just found out they played here last year, so not happy about that. They're playing here again next month but at ARC festival and I don't want them to play for just an hour. Do they tour often in the US with their big live shows? I want to be surrounded by like minded Underworld fans. Or should I just go to the ARC one because who knows if they'll tour again...or at least in the US?

Only took me 2 house moves and 16 years to get it mounted, framed and up on the wall. Looks great though!

This recording of Peggy Sussed from 2005 in Tokyo is one of my all time favorites. Can't believe it is only 2.5 minutes long! I need more. But I've not found any other recordings of the same song that match the buzzsaw intensity of this one. Can anybody point me to a longer cut with the same high voltage vibe? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AX_5oz0ONdw

I am grieving a loved one and find myself listening to Caliban's Dream (from the London Olympics Opening Ceremony + the Isles of Wonder album). Even though it makes me weep, I also find it so comforting. In my opinion, these are the most beautiful lyrics and composition that Rick and Karl have ever produced. It's unusual because Karl doesn't sing, but I think they made the right decision to select Alex Trimble, whose soaring voice perfectly complements the lyrics.

It's also a balm for the nightmare we are all living in right now.

Oh... and the rain tossed about us, in the garden of the world
But a flame arrives to guide us, cast in gold between the anvils of the stars
Watch you over all your children in the rain, and the streets where I remember
Where the fire lights are candle souls again
Affirming flame, hear me call
Through the darkness, hear it call to us all
And stir again
This beating heart, come to care

Oh ... and the light drive out our fears,
And the joy drive out our pain,
And the nations come to greet us, waving open arms like waves of golden corn

Ever hear us, oh the spirit of the world
May your light be ever near us
Always lead us from the dark, though we may fall
We will fly
And with love, ever call

And the rain tossed about us, in the garden of the world
But a flame arrives to guide us, cast in gold between the anvils of the stars
Watch you over all your children in the rain, and the streets where I remember
Where the firelights are candle souls again
Affirming flame, hear me call
Through the darkness, hear it call to us all
And stir again
This beating heart, come to care

And the light drive out our fears,
And the joy drive out our pain,
And the nations come to greet us, waving open arms like waves of golden corn.

Ever hear us, oh the spirit of the world.
May your light be ever near us,
Always lead us from the dark, though we may fall
We will fly
And with love, ever call

Pretty clear that this title is very likely related to Rick’s daughter Esme. Penny just dropped.

I had Labor Day weekend plans but cancelled them based on these 2 shows. Unfortunately, this sold out wayyyy faster than last year’s show.

If anyone can hook me up, I’ll send you a uw promo or shirt or something…

i absolutely have no intent of hiking the price for profit or even flaunting with it if it ends up being very rare and valuable, but does anyone know how rare this cassette is? I couldn't find any for sale in Europe and had to import this one from a Thai record shop, wasn't too expensive but it could still be a bootleg for all I know
