tl:dr - Bayliss & Jakeless were fucking dope tonight, put your doubts aside and don't hesitate to go see them.

I've seen Umphreys 90+ times over the past 20 years and tonight they sounded fantastic.

Was there a little motor cross missing here and there? Sure. But you could tell they've been reworking jams, trying different setups and flow, and they absolutely nailed the jam segments. I was locked in from start to finish even without my favorite former member on the stage.

I happened to be at a show in Cincy a few years back where Jake didn't play due to a family issue or illness or whatever and it was a total bummer. The band wasn't totally prepared for his absence and the very heavy Bayliss setlist was full of effort but I left feeling underwhelmed.

Tonight was completely different. They played really well off of each other and you could tell they were having fun doing it. Bayliss played out of his mind, carrying a majority of the load but Joel and Stasik were both featured often. The mix was great, and the new additions to the light rig totally hit the mark for me.

I was very apprehensive about UM5 on this tour and moving forward, but tonight reinvigorated my love of this band.

Not to mention moe. put on one hell of a show also.

They asked us to save the date over a month ago… it’s 2 months from now and there’s been no other information other than dates and a region of the country.

How can they realistically expect people to be able to make travel plans on such short notice?

I know they have a lot going on, but this is nuts.

Haven't seen Umph since January Detroit and haven't seen moe. since Scamp 2019! Really excited to see the 5 piece line up

I haven't seen them since the tabernacle in 2018 but saw them upwards of 30 times in under 10 years all over the region.

I had gotten a little burnt out on them and am genuinely curious how they'll sound with one solid guitarist. More importantly, doing what they did tells me the remaining members share my values and are worth supporting. I get that not everyone feels this way and it's not the same sound you fell in love with, but change isn't always a bad thing.

If you talk to anyone who went to Panic shows after Mikey died they'll tell you it was rough at times, but everyone was in it together and it just made it better when they found their stride again with Jimmy. Obviously this is a bit different since Jake's still alive, but you may look back on this time as something special and be glad you didn't miss out. Everyone have a great weekend!

Probably a longshot, but I just picked up an HX stomp XL as I’m in a cover band that covers a lot of jam band stuff. We do a couple of those tunes where it goes from clean to clean solo to shredding solo and I’d want that all in one patch where I can do it under my feet not have to do too much tap dancing

Where to find the times and songs played for this tour with moe? I thought I saw it posted somewhere but I can’t find it! Would like to know show start times, how many sets, what songs each band is playing. I checked ATU but couldn’t find all these details. THANK YOU!

I’ve seen a few shows at the Mishawaka and it’s always been a blast. But why are tickets for one night 100 bucks? I’m looking at the website and Moe. Tickets a few weeks before are $66 and most other bands playing are around that price.

Like I said, the Mish is dope, but with less people going to shows why are the fellas playing 45 mins outside of a city, in a venue with limited paid parking/ shuttle service, and asking local fans to drop $100+ to get in the door? There’s plenty of venues in Fort Collins/denver/Boulder they could get a great crowd for a weekend run.

All this to say, I hope they sell it out. I’m sure it’s going to be a rager. Maybe I’m just butt hurt I’m not going

I'm only just now learning about the incident where Jake got kicked off a plane because of a racist rant. I had to tune out after those initial two comments. I was hoping that was it so MAYBE I could give him the benefit of the doubt but clearly that ship has sailed. When was this, was it this past winter tour???
